I watched The Secret Millionaire on Channel 4 last night. Does anyone else feel a little cheated when the undercover millionaire says 'I'm worth millions' and then hands over a cheque for a miserly £3,000.

Or is it just me?

I've never watched the show but I know what its about. I do know a few millionaires though and I met a billionaire last year. I find them to be very generous to the right people, mainly friends and family. They also do a lot for charity that most people don't realise.

I have a couple of friends who own a luxury apartment in Canary Wharf, they really love me and I'm always welcome round their place when ever I need some where to stay. When ever I go there they always treat my like a prince and give me what ever I need. Ok so now I'm just showing off Razz

Edited to stay on topic:

I agree with Baggie.
If this "secret millionaire" fella handed over millions to all and sundry he'd be broke in a while.
I think he's got the right idea, gives away what he's happy to do without.

Dunno about the show but I think millionaires are like most of people - they cant automatically be categorised just because they have a certain amount of money. In other words there are generous ones and tight ones and ones in between. I have noticed that older people seem a bit more generous than younger people - regardless of wealth. Or maybe thats just me being 'soft'

yeh when im out doing my charity work i find women in the 18-35ish bracket arent as generous as men of the same age who generally are very generous and on the whole the most generous are those who don't have that much to give

edit: stereotypically that is, it's not true in all cases.

This is in no way ment to have a dig at you personally, but a pretty young blonde? 'Course more guys are going to give you money! On top of which, men are notoriously crap with money. A lot of women don't give much to charity cos they're too busy trying to balance the bills/housekeeping, not to mention possble debts.

In my experience as far as who is the most generous I would say its pretty equal. Men are more likely to be more generous with cash but woman are likely to be equally generous but with material gifts.

No, its just like I said, I might just get some stick from this but what the hell. Its like sex, woman put more emotions into it. Woman are just as generous as men but they use more material gifts then cash.
