Life's great when you have flaws many and varied, I know that from looking at myself. It must be really awful to be right all of the time, have an opinion that is more important than someone else's...and boring too. If certain "wordly-wise" posters are so perfect in every way and have an opinion that no one dare question, it makes you wonder how on earth they are still single really...unless of course they aren't as "perfect" as they think they are or somewhat economical with the truth about their relationship status! ( Where do certain folk find the time to be opinionated about so many things too?)

Anyone else believe it's healthy to be wrong and flawed sometimes and even better to realise it and be unashamed? Very Happy

From my experience on the net, as far as men are concerned anyway. The better pic you have up, the more intelligent and right your opinions you are

Seriously though, if anyone posts an opinion on a public forum they have to expect that it will be challenged from time-to-time, and this is also what makes threads lively.
I don't see anyone on here that believes they're right all the time. However, there are times when the way people express their thoughts and opinions becomes a touch personal, giving rise to a bit of support from others or defensive reactions to posts.
I have to admit to being opinionated myself, and I have the time and experiences to cover wide ranging subjects AND I have chosen to be single most of my life........ but I do know that I can't always be right and opinions are just that, OPINIONS, facts about something are quite different.

One of the things I learned was that it's hard to come up with original ideas, I often put up a 'straw man' to stimulate debate and will argue as hard as I can for it to draw out better options even though I know what I'm arguing for is not right. It's a tool that takes strong people to oppose but gets results. Maybe some of them out there are just trying to stimulate discussion? Wink

Ive discovered that women are not allowed to have an opinion when it comes to disagreeing with a man, apparently its not right, maybe we need to rip of our bras and burn em like in the 50s to get some respect and not to be belittled by dick head men!

Hmm I see women giving their opinions all over the net..also in real life. Not sure where you have been restricted?

In fact some women tend to be more opinionated then some men. Some men think they have to act like clowns, which is okay if they act like that in real life, but often they dont.

I have personally found that if you put your opinion across you get shoot down by certain types of men and they use the whole unintelligent card because of how you look. I still think there are alot of men that dont like women with strong minds and opinions. Hense this topic being made and having peoples opinions being twisted to seem like we think we are right all the time! Given, i usually am right! ha ha ha!

Haha! Yes, I know exactly where you're coming from on this one......male school teachers seem to be the worst I've come across regarding this but my very last meeting with one before my son left school was so impressive he was forced to come around to my way of thinking and his last question to me gave him the kind of answer he would never be able to see me the same way again..... but remember it took 5 years and something really serious to reach this point.

It's very strange how an entirely different subject can mysteriously turn into a man bashing session, isn't it? Arrogance and an insistence of holding moral high ground are not, in my experience, gender specific, there are self opinionated and self declared experts in all walks of life and of either love, all of whom I find equally tiresome. It would be nice if what was said didn't generate into an " all men are..." or "all women are...", as that would seem rather childish and stereotypical, wouldn't it? Very Happy

This isn't really a man bashing session, we're just expressing opinions based on our experiences, nobody has stated " all men are...or "all women are..." I've only shared that when I've come across people who don't like to listen to, or value women's opinion, they've usually been male school teachers but that's definitely not the case in my past work situations where both men and women would have equally wanted my opinions.
In the same way that jb only refers to certain 'types of men' that she has personally found to have manners towards her seemingly based on her appearance, and I have witnessed this with my blonde daughter as well. Research backs up the 'dumb blonde' attitude and people I know who've had hair blonde or other will tell you that they are treated differently.
Anyhow, going back to the topic, I answered earlier nobody is always right.

We haven't, you've been mentioned all over the forum as you will see if you go back over a few posts to see what you've missed. Nice to see you back. I'm locked out atm, can't get into the site, this was just a page I already had open.
