Well, I don't drink at all, and I don't pub nor club - ever. Gave that all up years ago as a complete waste of time, life, money, self respect, health and productivity. I find the activity, the environments, and what goes on surrounding it all one of the most boring, stinking and completely pointless self-harming exercises known to humanity. Legalised drug abuse, people childishly and stupidly running away from life into a bottle, making themselves look and sound like morons - regardless of the quantity or setting. Who wants to listen to a drunk - ever, or even pay attention to them? Who values what someone has to say if they've got any amount of booze in them? What an utterly ridiculous proposition. So... I don't date drinkers nor druggers ever, for I prefer to be with someone authentic all of the time, someone adult and responsible, example-setting, worthy of respect and self-respecting, and not a drug-altered version of themselves. I find drinkers soooo degrading - regardless of the quantity or frequency. And like is well known, there is never a justification for drinking - ever, merely an excuse and the desire to associate with other like-minded, feeble-charactered, excuse-making social cripples and other morally underdeveloped and intellectually degenerate types of addict. So yeah, after all of that goading to tease out the real hard-drinking readers worth avoiding in the dating game, welcome to the thread!!!!!!!!

Thats why i started this thread! I say recovering, i've been clean just coming up to 3 and a half years now and obviously due to not drinking for that reason, i find being in pubs to not be a favorite pass time, so thats socially crippled me somewhat.

So yeah, i started this to see if there were people in the same boat as me

Yes, a good thread to have on here. It can help a lot of people, whether just for chat or for info. I'm still a facilitator at 2 centres on a voluntary basis, so I see the damage that it brings to lives, families and society in general on a massive scale.

It's dead easy to get a social life! Just do everything that you used to enjoy (sports, cinema, theatre, opera, shows, religion, restaurants, study, family, work, personal development, run a business, charity work, etc) and some brand new pursuits too - but just don't do them in pubs and clubs or with drunkies. Easy peasy really... and if you remember what it was like in primary school and what you used to do with your friends back then, before you ever began to drink, just do the same now and don't get arrested for it. Peeing through a neighbours letter-box isn't good, sober or drunk. But blowing things up can be brill... even shooting lessons need a steady hand, and they're cheap if you block-book...
