Ok...it all started when i opened up my inbox and found my messages sent and received from the weekend had been deleted! Not that i was overly worried lol but i'm just wondering if it meant that the so called members were fakes...as one seemed to good to be true and i kind of played along, but it's getting to the point you just don't know who is who on this website anymore...which is slightly sad! I received a suspect text message today, saying the so called girl wanted to meet up[ with me me...and to text a reply back...only that the number started 0800 & made me a fair bit suspicious! I had no intention to reply but i thought i'd type the number into the Google...and it makes for an interesting read! So if anyone does get a random text from what looks like a strange number after kindly obliging to give your number to someone your talking to on here, then i'd advise reading the link below...don't reply otherwise it could be a very expensive christmas for you lol (this could of gone in the fakes/spammers section but not enough people view that part of the forum).

If a person you've been conversing with via PM on here deletes their profile, all your messages to and from them will vanish.
And yeah, there are a lot of weirdos/scammers on the web, just the way it is.
Personally, I never give out personal stuff like a phone number until I feel comfortable with that person.

Lol...yeah knew everyone! ok i sense the sarcasm. Well i have been on/off this site for 3 years and it has only been the last maybe 3 months i have really been getting some major spams and random messages from very shady characters! Rolling Eyes

And...i also don't give out my number...this was the first time...& it was only the fact that they were 'apparently' local to me so i thought why not! Oh well...i havn't lost anything, but just warning others who get sucked into it all!

Sorry Eddy, I thought you'd like them.....just kidding! Razz

Hey, within 48 hrs of setting up a yahoo email address I (supposedly) sent MYSELF a shedload of junk emails offering myself viagra and free membership to analqueen.com if I just click here....hahahahaha!

Its easy for the spammers/scammers to piggyback/hijack/whatever it is they do to rubbish your email address.

I have always changed email address/internet provider at least once every year for this very reason. Confused

Well from stupildy giving out my number only this 1 time, i woke up with a rather odd call this morning asking...hi is that 'Dave the window cleaner'...half asleep i said yeah it's Dave, but i'm not a window cleaner! So i'm guessing i might get a few more crank calls now...oh well...my fault for giving it out, i'm just annoyed the best they could come up with was window cleaner! Maybe my card is in a newsagents window right now so i could be getting a fair bit of work! Might have to change careers full-time if i get any more calls lol! So maybe this has turned out for the better... Smile

Mmmmmm, Little Vixen had summat similar recently.
I cant help wonder if its someone casing the joint - though of course answering your mobile doesnt mean you are at home or not...just be more careful in future.
Of course, I am known to be a bit cynical!

Well house number is slightly different! Wouldnt dare be giving that out...anyway...not much someone can do with a mobile number! Go through the Yellow pages and there's thousands so it's nothing that concerns me! However...i do kind of associate it with this Site!

When my son was 12 we gave him a mobile so we could keep track of him when out.
He started getting hundreds (literally) of calls from men asking him about his 'personal services'....his brother managed to answer one of the calls one day, and it appeared that his mobile number had been incorrectly been printed on someone's 'business cards'.
We laughed at the time, but it wasnt really all that funny really.
(to get round the problem we simply got him a new sim card so he changed his number).

Hi Dave,

I had a smattering of texts from this girl who I had emailed a couple of times who seemed pretty genuine. Guess I should have been more careful but after a few times I just sent back a message stating stop and no more came of it. Might add a little bit onto the phone bill but hell with it. Lesson learnt to be honest.
