If Hitler had won............we'd have had human cloning a long time ago (he was practising on people back then) and ALOT more people would have been murdered, is what.
Friends I have now wouldn't ever exist because their parents/grandparents would never have been liberated from the death camps, and POW camps, including my uncle we are burying tomorrow........
Sorry stepping on some toes I am sure, but I gotta say it.....what the feck good could have come of victory from someone who wanted a superior race, and to obliterate anyone who fell short of his standard or got in his way?

I have to admit though, Adolf Hitler is an interesting guy.
He actually acheived some things you would think were impossible.

He was an interesting man, very forceful of character and very driven by love of his people and his nation. As you say, he achieved great things. It's easy to write him off as a monster, but he wasn't.

Quote:
Obviously I don't agree in any way with what he did, but I do wonder what everyone around him was thinking and what our lives would be like now if he had actually been the victor in WWII.......

Probably not as bad as most people would have you believe.

Wouldn't have the current immigration/asylum seeker mess for one thing.

That's not what Hitler wanted at all. Remember, the winners write the history books and no one ever asks the winners to justify themselves. All this "superior race" stuff is nonsense and a red herring.

Actually, I didn't say 'great things'
I said 'He actually acheived some things you would think were impossible'

Not far off what you said, I agree, but totally different too.... Very Happy

SOME if has ideas were great on paper, but the way he went about things was too clinical and ruthless....

Nevertheless, he did achieve great things in Germany including dragging the country out of a recession.

Fuck, I've done it again, spiralling off topic......

Sorry............... Crying or Very sad

Although....Hitler was as close to religion as you can get without actually being so.

That, for him would have been a good thing, cos people will do absolutely ANYTHING, if they believe it is for their god......... Confused

We obviously both have very strong opinions on this matter (well, I do anyway and I dont just plagerise history books, I have family who fought and died, and lived to tell the tale) But I dont think Fbx is the place to discuss it in all honesty, so I wont respond to that.

I have family who fought and died in the war, too. Lots of people fought and died in the war including millions of Germans.

On topic - temporarily - I'm not religious at all, but....Oh My F***ing God!

I shouldn't be surprised that Moose has finally admitted to being a Fascist, in fact, I'm not surprised, but it's still a shock to see it in black and white. And so casually dropped into the conversation too, like saying "Hi, I like two sugars in my tea. How about you - are you a Holocaust Denier?".

Doesn't this constitute that "casual racism" that the moderators suggest we report?

I'm (almost) speechless.

I'm soooo glad that my 'superpowers' don't reach into this section.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that everyone is entitled to an opinion on here (even if 99% of the rest of the world will disagree strongly with it)

No-one can realisticly expect anyone else to believe that the holocaust didn't happen, and I don;t think that is what Moose was saying.

I am not trying to put down what you are saying though, as you have the right to express your opinion too.

It is a tough one to call, and someone with the power to do summat about it will be along shortly.........
