this brother told me a secret
on how to get more chicks
put a little medina in your glass
and the girls'll come real quick
it's better than any alcohol
or afrodesiac
a couple of sips of this love potion and she'll be on your lap
so I gave some to my dog, when he began to big
and then he licked his bowl and he looked at me
and did the wild thing on my leg
he used to scratch and bite me
before he was much much meaner
but now all the poodles run to my house for the funky cold medina

Once, A 12 year old boy saved up 3 weeks worth of his allowance to buy a crap bracelet for his sweetheart.

The bracelet he bought wasnt much to look at either. Shiny outlined stars linked to fake diamonds snaking a path around the wrist. It wasnt of any particular great quality, just like the boy himself, there were hundreds of this kind. The most one could say was that it was ordinary.

To him though, It was Solomon's gold at that point.

His sweetheart was older than him. In an ordinary light she was the average 14 year old; self centred, trying desperately to be a woman and completely in control of her image in the social feudalism that is school.
In his eyes, she was faultless - a greek goddess that made Aphrodite seem like an old hag.

The school dance. She went out with him. They dressed in finery pretending to be adults a few years too soon. Lights flashed, heads raced and curiousity was having the time of it's collective life. The world was full of stars.

He was called out, away from the noise and the lights. "This is my chance", he thought. Rolling the bracelet of hope between his fingers inside his pocket, he followed her.

Irony, they say, is ever vigilant and truly without humour. He was betrayed by her and tossed to the wolves. As the wolves tore apart his flesh he looked at her, eyes filled with questions. She smiled contently. The image burned deep into his mind. His hand gripped the braclet with an attempt to keep some sort of hope alive.

Primal instinct took over. Survival became paramount. He fell into the darkness and severed all his ties with humanity in an attempt to reconcile with the hatred festering within him. The first casualty of this campaign was the ordinary bracelet. It was flung off the top of a mountain into the valley town below.

Months passed in blurs. Hatred, as it has always done, gave way to pity. The boy sat down alone in the centre of the valley city and beneath his foot, buried in the gravel, lay the braclet.

Irony is truly without humour.

He kept the braclet. Do you think he was right?
