I have to agree with your thoughts on thoughless owners tho, some people just shouldn't...

Aw m8, I hope the shit news isn't too bad.
I think a different question is raising it's head here anyway....'If you were forced by law to have a pet, what would you have?'
Mine would have to be one of the pointless ones I mentioned, probably a tortoise, they don't eat much, aren't going to run into the road, sleep through most of the winter, come ready-made with thier own house, and really don't need much looking after......plus it could be fun to paint them different colours (non-toxic of course)!

Thanks mate but unfortunately it is, I'm not saying anything else here, I posted in the Advice thread I had previously started. What is it people say about it never rains but it pours?

I like the painted tortoise idea btw but I'll go with two parrots - they come pre-painted tho are sometimes themselves known to be a bit toxic...

Yeah, parrots...Psittacosis (see here http://www.ccohs.ca/oshanswers/diseases/psittacosis.html) is mild but nasty.
Maybe some kind of chimera would be good, eg. a flying monkey

cheers for that dude, haven't been back in there yet prefer to be distracting myself in here for moment - got something red and sweet to drink plus a bubbly jar contraption thingy to help...

re parrots as disease carriers, yes admittedly there is that, personally I don't like seeing owners letting any animal get near to their mouths. But having a creature close to you that gives you un-conditional love and commitment also has its advantages - as ever its a balancing act between pros and cons?

but I've another question for you, what do You do that has an elevated element of risk? Where do you get your kicks? Wink Twisted Evil

nope don't do anything to get kicks, I live an averagely dull life. I work at Tesco head office, that's risky enough on its own! fortunately no pets there hahaha
