Now don't take this the wrong way....I am not a sadistic cat-killer etc, I love animals and wouldn't personally harm any creature (I will eat them though... okay i'm a hypocrite, what u gonna do about it)...anyways....it's my theory that we shouldn't have 'pets', it's cruel. Working animals, like sheepdogs, shire horses, guide dogs, etc are ok though.
Essentially, cats are parasites - if you stop feeding them they'll bugger off elsewhere, no loyalty in a cat. Dogs are generally stoopid and will dribble themselves to death out of a car window. Parrots are entertaining if disease ridden.

I like all animals. Would probably take a dog over a cat but really would like to own a couble of parrots. Fantastic creatures.

There's a parrot help line - and if you've all stopped laughing - its not for the Parrots! Razz They live a looong time and out-live their owners' ability to care for them so this charity takes them in and will let you have one 'on lone' so to speak for a few months to see if you can cope. They check you out first to make sure your suitable, and you have to sign up to the fact that you only give it back to them it you run out of patience. One day when my life's a bit more stable I'm signing up Very Happy

Love parrot fish too but that's another story - buggers to photograph...

i would not be without my 2 cats they are the sweetest buggers in the world. they are very loving and loyal house cats, i have tried to get them to go out but they are both homely cats. chi chi is a tortie and very sweet on the rare moments where i get upset and cry she will come and curl up on my lap pourring away, always cheers me up and fudge a big black fluff ball follows karl around like he is god or something it is very sweet.
would not change them for the world

I second that, only with my own 2. Spud and Mojo, couldn't be without them, best company ever. They sit with me to watch tv, they provide entertainment when tv's rubbish, they only ask for food, they are great judges of character.

So much so that if I meet someone who doesn't like cats, I instinctively don't get on with them. I even have that caveat in my profile, cos I wouldn't give up my cats if my girlfriend didn't like them.

I hate all kind of pets... wouldnt have any, tried a goldfish once and even although you clean the tank every week they still stank. I like dogs but they need a lot of attention and if your going on holiday or away for a few days you have to get someone to watch them, dont like cats though, a few of my friends have cats and when i go around to their houses its always my feckn knee they want to sit on and stick their claws into me purring Twisted Evil

I had small pets like goldfish and budgies when I was a kid, but I'm not a big pet person. I wouldn't object to a partner having one, its just not for me.

There's no category for what I think in the poll, which is that of personal choice, and some pets should be banned, and some should not, and some pets I like ,and others I don't.

I prefer fish and reptiles if I wanted to keep anything, but I like my freedom, and don't want to be in a situationof having to plan organise care if I wanted to spend time away.

The poll doesn't allow for 'not bothered either way'. I like animals but am too lazy to put up with them. However, if a potential partner came with pets, I'd happily take them on as well Very Happy

Yeah I know, I deliberately didn't give the option of sitting on the fence. I did try to put 'kill all pets' as a final option but I think it got edited by god etc. Laughing
I have spiders in the house but I couldn't classify them as pets, but i don't throw them out as they catch all the other bugs for me.
I try not start relationships with women with pets, as I have found that the pets come 1st.

I hit my cheesy line limit two days ago, I got to wait another week before I can use lines like that.
