Everyone's been telling me about this earthquake but I noticed nothing whatsoever. It's a wind up. The entire country is conspiring to wind me up.

We had earthquakes in california every day. I got to the point of sleeping right through all but the most violent ones. Anything under a 4.0 on the richter scale and i dont notice it. I was under the impression that england did not get too many of them.

I was 10 miles away from the epicenter of the 1987 Loma Prieta that took place in santa cruz. They always call it the san fran earthquake but san fran is 60 miles away. 4 people died that day and i thought my world was going to end that day. The first thing i noticed was this great big rumbling noise. It sounded like it came from the belly of a big great beast. Then everything started falling from all shelves every where and you could hear it as this was happening everywhere. Then the ground started shaking. I mean shaking so bad you had trouble standing on yor own two feet and where lucky if you maintained your stance. I was in front of a store waiting for my friend mark to come out. The window pane was wobbling back and forth like it was made out of rubber and then it burst open. There were places in the county were the hight difference of the earth was as much as 15 feet.

That was the biggest one i had been in and this was only a 7.1. Biggest one california had in the century apart from the 1906 san fran that took out san fran by means of fire. The little ones were like a roller coaster ride to me and i never got scared but the thought was always in the back of my head that this is going to be the big one. Most californians think that eventually half of the state is just going to slide into the ocean one day.

Sounds like you guys had a fun ride lol
