Had my second tattoo done last night. First one was to mark my 40th birthday and was just on the outside of my upper left arm.

This one was a little more adventurous, wrapped around my upper right arm. Boy, near the armpit on the underside of the arm is SOOOOO much more sensitive than I expected....

Kathy it does hurt a little, but the pain soon numbs and its more like an annoying little prick ( no pun intended lol ) also depends on where of course you have have it done as some parts of your body are naturally more sensative to others. The after care is simple in that you just need to keep it moist and not try to scratch it.. Also a good idea to keep out of the sun until its healed. Usaully around ten days or so. Rolling Eyes

Going with what LadyT said, Kathy, it ranges from zero pain to someone scratching your skin with something sharp, in my experience anyway.

Have you decided on the design yet? I designed both of mine, based on designs I saw that I liked. Once I have a design I am happy with, I wait about a month - if i am still happy I get it done - if i feel i can improve on it, then I do so and wait again.

I just have the two. A third one is designed and planned, but my girl and I are going to get it done at the same time, as it has meaning to how we met.

i designed i this time last year, been thinking about it all this time, about a month ago now went from wanting it but scared of pain and being 80 with tattoos, and thinking that sometimes they looked stupid and scared they would on me, 2 really wanting it doing. it just kind of clicked whenn i saw this tattoo on a girl and it looked really beautiful, had a moment of clarity and realised i really wanted it doing.

i always thought it would look really stupid and i'd hate it, but thinking about it, yu that time i'd have had it on me for about 60 years, so i should b used 2 seeing it, and would prob feel weird without it. also, it'd b on a part of me that i coveer up most the time, and when i'm 80 would b hidden all the time, so it shoul b fine!!

As mine are both on upper arms, they are hidden by most t-shirts. Hmmm, maybe we should start a tattoo thread in the Art section and show off pics?
