As for changing cars, the cheapest ones to tax tend to be diesels like renault meganes, vauxhall corsas, nissan micras, renault clios, peugeot 206, cant remember the rest! Golfs arent too bad on the tax as long as they are diesel and they look the part 2!! Only the cars with CO2 over 225 and less than 2 years old will take a huge jump from what they are now! Then again, as i see it, if u can afford to buy it and fill it then u must be able 2 afford the road tax on it!

9 million people will be worse off when the new rules come into effect.

I wonder how many of those 9 million will be voting accordingly in the next general election?

Not that doing so will make the slightest difference though......

Out of the frying pan, into the fire eh?

So you think that this one increase should be the issue that people vote on?

I think it is something that people should definately take into account when voting.

More of a case of straw that breaks the camels back really.

There are plenty of reasons why people shouldn't be voting for Labour again.

The only problem remaining is to find an alternative which is better.....

(I have no answer to THAT question)

this new car tax system totally sucks

on the other hand I got an excuse to go buy me a BMW as i would be paying less tax than my focus.

Hopefully once i score a promotion at work I will get a hefty non taxable car allowance
