I didn't get this message from flirtbox but it did make me think that it could be helpful/therapuetic to have somewhere to dump nasty messages......somehow getting them 'out' feels better, but it did make me think how awful somebody might feel if they've already got a low self esteem or believed in curses.

I am so glad now that I found out his true colours in just 4 days 'cos I thought he was somebody worth knowing. The start of it going downhill, was him being offended that I wouldn't give him my phone number so soon, and despite telling him my reasons he couldn't understand why I should be "difficult" then when he saw the 'light hearted banter' between me and another guy he just seemed to see 'red' He did admit to being jealous, but he had jumped to conclusions and never asked about it before sending me a first horrible message, after which I told him my feelings had changed so he was mad that his "one mistake" had made the difference. The thing was, that even the banter with the other guy wasn't understood, like we have our own private joke and it didn't even mean what he thought it did, it was actually something so daft, a game that kids would play!!
A lucky escape methinks!!

Morning, good idea, I just delete the messages when they come like that, but its so often; it has stopped me logging on as often, and i change my profile to not looking.

It seems people confuse flirting with either desperate for love or desperate for a partner, when in reality it is of course them, that are desperate!
Desperately in need of a) a life, b) a sense of humour, c) respect for others.

some of the mail I got was wishing me dead and all sorts.... then I did a name search and saw that his court cases for similar actions have cost him a small fortune nearly every year .... but do you know what? he's now sent me a letter of apology via my e-mail('cos I'd blocked him everywhere else).
I think you're right that some people are desperate for a relationship and can't take any kind of 'knock back' It will take a special person to win my heart as I enjoy my life, therefore anyone wanting to be with me has to 'add' something to my quality of life and happiness, as I would expect to do likewise for them.

I have to agree, I am loving life at the mo and its made me sooo much choosier. I aint interested in just having a 'partner' or a quick romp lol That may change next weekend when i am out, drunk,dressed as a school girl, and comiserating the loss of my 20's

Hug gratefully received Alice, thanks. Yeah, I've moved on and it serves as a reminder that there are some people you really need to be careful with. So glad I hadn't given him my phone number after all. He'd written to me since with a 'nice tone' 'cos he realised it was his own thoughts and assumptions that angered him in the first place and nothing to do with anything I'd said or done.
These kind of experiences make me more cautious but guys can be quite 'offish' with me if I'm not prepared to add them to my msn or give my phone number for a while.
The decent guys on here are accepting of that and don't take it personally. They understand we have to be careful.
BUT I've had a stalker in the past and I've had persons misusing my phone number for a few years that I've tolerated as I really needed to keep my same number.......of course in the beginning I'm told how they can be 'trusted'.......

I got in touch with my feminine side. She emailed me back saying if I ever contacted her again she'd call the police.

I think we all have to be able to cope with rejection when using sites such as this but when somebody responds with nastiness, it just proves they weren't the kind of person I'd be looking for and if they'd read my profile in the first place then I probably wouldn't have been in the position to reject them either.

Mine always seem to be from women which says a lot about them if they feel the need to send them type of messages to other women! and similar to rachel i think we all get the rejection message from the dick heads, mine are usually ones like "you put your fake tits on show just to show what a slut you are" ha ha!!

Mind you i did get a nasty message the other day saying " so your what a girl that cries rape looks like" i did send back "so your what a man that pays prostitutes to sleep with you looks like" then i blocked!

I think the nasty messages that reveal an unstable person are the scary ones. A bit of rudeness is bareable but when there's sinister undertones we need to beware of a bit more than what meets the eye.
