Fancy hijacking your own thread Ed!!

So, have you decided to call this parrot Metis?
When do you get her?
How old is she?
Dont tell me you bought her egg off a Nigerian fella on Birdtrek, and he's incubating it for you as we speak? (No, I'm not racist, it's *always* Nigerian fellas though).

No actually! I've bought her from a reputable breeder. She's 14 weeks old and I'll pick her up tomorrow (weds). She's silly tame. Teddy bear cuddly!
As for the name, there's still a day to go so I can't reveal the winner yet.

In case anyone gives a toss, I've named my parrot Ruby. However, I've given her 'Metis' as a middle name. I like the level of effort/research that was put into that.

Whoever suggested 'Flirty Bertie'........oh pleeeease
And surely 'Patsys' come out of cowsies bottomsies?

Oh and the pathetic prize is that you get my parrot named after your suggestion. Well done Trev! Very Happy

.....Yes? Please what? huh? huh? huh?

I love the name Ruby.....or rather
Rooooooobeeeeeeee dont take your love to town!

(Actually, thats probably rather macabre to say that, being a tragic true story).

So scrap that, but yes Ruby is a lovely old fashioned name. I remember pretending my name was Ruby when I was little cuz I hated my real name.

Well that was fairly astute: I did name her after a song. 'Rudie can't fail' but I thought naming her after a jamaican gang member wasn't a good idea so 'Rudie' was morphed into 'Ruby' - which matches her tail! Blimey, given your take on her name I might as well have called her Roxanne

Where would a parrot sell her body in this country?

In that case I would have suggested "Jezebel" but that's my cat Polly! Laughing

Who, Polly? Well she stayed out all night, came home with not one but two tommers in tow, and has just produced 6 bairns but none of them look like either possible daddies!
Actually, Polly is a parrot name....I called her that cuz when she was a kitten she sat on my shoulder and nibbled my ear.

Oh and on thread, Ed if you're not careful Ruby will learn lots of naughty words then her name will be Rudie Ruby anyway!

Ha! Just as I hit send (about Polly sat on my shoulder nibbling my ear) what email photo did I just receive?? Ruby on your shoulder nibbling your ear! She's Ruby Polly, and when she learns to swear she;ll be Rudie Ruby Polly!!! Laughing

Well her full title is as follows: Ruby Metis Flint.

Flint was suggested by some pirate name calculator I found online, Yarr!

I won a competition reading Treasure Island at school. I'm quite well known for putting on voices. My latest is a disturbingly good impersonation of Alan Carr.
