I love myspace but I can't use it for everything I like to do until I get a new pc later in the year, but missing it like crazy!

I'm such a hypocrite. I have always disliked the friend collector aspects and the more shallow side of soical networking sites like MySpace immensely. Inever really needed anything like it for photos and blogs (since I have my own blog eslewhere, not mention a few otehr web sites), but have relented and have a very basic page there now.

I draw the line at customising my page though, I just don't see the point, although I do admit that to some extent it reflects ones personality. I still think my own sites do that much better Smile But I have some very cool friends there, so I suppose it serves its purpose.

I have both Facebook and MySpace accounts, and I can sure waste a lot of time between the two of them. Facebook is more for people in uni and old school friends who have been crawling out of the woodwork over the last few months as Facebook seems to have reached a kind of critical mass and is growing well fast and not just in the university crowd. At my placement hospital they IT dept have only just banned it from the network as the radiographers were busy stocking tropical fish tanks and biting chumps to turn them into vampires instead of x raying the punters. All the new applications turning up on Facebook are a big load of crap and have increased the amount of spam on Facebook to similar levels as MySPace now. Everyone who installs one of the pointless apps brainlessly seems to let the app invite everyone in the contact list so it is like a virus replicating and taking up bandwidth.

Saying that though, I think it is great. It makes it som much easier to keep in touch with people I might hardly ever talk to previously...
