How should the most popular members be determined?

Definitely not on received messages. Obviously the flaw could be someone creating accounts just to send random fake messages to their main profile.

I voted on the favourites list thing, because that genuinely sounds like someone considers that person not just worth sending a message to, but worth remembering.

Hits to a page shouldn't count either, because they might just have a suggestive pic in their profile nicked from a website that appeals to the guys. This would encourage users to post more risque pictures of themselves in revealing positions and just generally turn the site into a "hot or not" ripoff.

Actually, the messaging "cheat" could easily be used for the "favourites" method of showing popularity.

Ok, i'll change my opinion, even though i've voted otherwise.

I'd say "page views" was the sign of a most popular user, even if it was only because they were posing in their underwear for their profile pics.

I guess that'd be the closest thing we've got to popularity on this site?

How about messages from individual users, only counting one message from each user, and making sure their IP addresses don't match the originator?
