ever wondered what might have been if you'd taken up an opportunity that was offered to you, but for whatever reason you had at the time, you chose not to.

A couple of mine:-
As a teen, 6 weeks in Ibiza doing the cooking for somebody I knew who was planning to buy land there. Most of the time would have been my own and everything would have been paid for me.
Apart from the fact that I wasn't much of a cook, I was very shy out of my comfort zone.

I was asked to give a talk at an International Conference in Italy
I'd presented a paper in a National Conference and felt that was scary enough without doing anything bigger but I used my pregnancy as an excuse as to why not.

That sucks, Sue. Crying or Very sad

When I was 19 I had the opportunity to buy a health food shop - kind of pick and mix, weigh and save - big barrels of stuff that you put in bags yourself and paid by the ounce/pound. Was an on-going concern with a one bed flat upstairs, freehold to boot.

My mum at the time was the manageress of a big health foods chain store and really looked down her nose at it and convinced me I would make a hash of it (and refused to help) so I didn't sign the papers at the last minute.

I often wonder what might have been if I'd had the maturity and balls to ignore her and go for it.

I hope I haven't made a thread that turns out too negative and full of regrets....... perhaps it's useful reflecting and acknowledging those " I wonder if I'd......" moments, in order to say goodbye and release them as 'things' from the past that we can't change. Set them freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Razz

Blimey, I've had so many onver the years. My life is full of making the wrong decisions. I would advice younger people to grasp any oppurtunity that goes their way. At least give it a go

Yes, I know with the same mind I would make the same choices which may or may not have been wrong, but having hindsight would have made a difference. I suppose some choices were not necessarily right or wrong, but would just have made a very different kind of life.

I have never learned to drive and never really wanted to, BUT that is the one thing that would have made my life so entirely different, it's too much to imagine.

Regrets, I've had a few, but then again too few to mention... Apart from the one about flying jets. When the RAF recruiter told me that my test scores allowed me to take the further tests for a pilot, I gratefully accepted. However I wasn't patient enough to go back to college to gain the extra qualifications I needed. I was a fecking idiot.
