For years when I was younger, I thought that the lyrics in Boomtown Rats 'I don't like mondays', first line was 'Silicon chip in Cider head...etc'...which obviously I couldn't understand, it seemed to be a nonsense lyric, but it was years before I realised it was actually 'Silicon chip inside her head'! lol
c'mon, I know you've all got some...

I used to think the line in the Blondie song ''Denise Denise'' was............ beneath the knee, oh with your eyes so blue

We fade to gray by Visage i used to think he was singing "we brain the grape"

See how easily it happens!?
'Beneath the knee' and 'We brain the grape' similarly dont make any sense, but you went with it anyway hahaha

From Play with fire by Rolling stones.....
for the longest time i thought he was singing,
Your mother she's an arris, owns a block in Saint John's Wood
.....Arris meaning arse

I used to think Golden Brown by The Stranglers had the following words:
Golden brown texture like sun
Lays me down with my mancherons
Throughout the night
No need to fight
Never a frown with golden brown
I was well confused as to what a 'mancheron' was. I thought it may have been some kind of heroin reference or other. It turns out the correct words are 'Lays me down with my mind she runs'. Now I know that I can hear them sing that clearly each time... Apparently this kind of thing is called a mondegreen.
