The best advice you can have is go to the A & E asap, and get the Police involved, but I suspect you know that.

I know women that have been abused for 35 years and their lives have been a misery because the keep having these men back, and don't go to the Police Sad

honey if u are worried then u must go, have u no one that can help u. They wont mind if it is the middle of the night because of what has happened u are right to be worried and esp. about your neck. Try and get there asap. I would also say if u find that u can go to sleep then try to sleep propped up on pillows as it will be easier to get out of bed that way instead of having to sit up from lieing down. I think if there is someone u can call now then do it, even if they stay with your child while u go off in a taxi or something. i really would say to get there asap.

Louby .... I only saw this this morning. Hope your ok and got some sleep last night. Maybe now its morning you'll be in a more positive frame of mind to get yourself down to the doctors and have them check you over, and i know what your saying about this guy knowing your brother and thats why you cant tell but he probably nows how your thinking and you wont say anything meaning he will try this again, It might be you or it might be some other unfortunate female so I'd say think again about going to the police, scum that hit women shouldnt be allowed to roam the streets.

I hope that by the time I am writing this you have already gone to the doctor but seriously get yourself down there....Its not just the fact that you may be injured but if you do decide to go to the police, either sooner or later, then you will need some evidence...it might even be an idea to take a few photos of any marks he has left on you....especially if you are not going to get yourself checked out. I would bet everything I own that you are not the first lady that this b*stard has hit & you surely wont be the last...especially if he gets away with it.

Chet made a good point that Police don't treat these kind of people very nicely! I know for a fact that this is true & he would take a good beating before he even got to his cell...then prison is a hundred times worse for woman beaters....you may as well be a child molester in there if you get locked up for violence towards women...& everyone will find out what he is in there for the police will make sure of that too.

...If its protection you are worried about then I'm sure if the police dont bring him to justice then your brother will,,,I know thats not what you want but you need people you love & who love you around you at this time...at least you are not too vulnerable...some people have nobody...make sure you get checked out though its best for you & your child if you get it done ASAP

Loubylou, i just saw this and im very sorry to see what has happened to you.

Im only going to be repeating what others have sad, but ill say it anyway because its very important you do it.

Go to the Hospital, Report the man to the Police, TELL your brother.

If he blames the booze, then the man is a risk to you and everyone around you everytime he drinks. You do not want this person in your life. If you ignore it now, and let him get away with it, He WILL be back.

Im sorry to be so blunt about it loubylou, but its important that you don't ignore what happened, and do something about it.

I know that its a subject that's gotten everyone's blood up, but the last thing we need on this thread is an argument between two people that has nothing to do with loubylou.

I agree that people should only say constructive things here, but the last thing loubylou needs to see is more aggression and language even if its to protect her, stemming from her story.

Im asking everyone to keep their emotions in check, and keep their posting rational.

I get drunk now and again but I don't get the urge to strangle and headbut women, cant see how anyone can be stupid enough to use that as a reason or excuse.

So I agree with you chief.

Intimidation and violence is not all about strength and "fair play", someone who wants to be violent and nasty is going to do what they can to make sure they have the advantage.

If you mean that I'm insensitive, I don't think that's fair. I've not said anything horrible.

My 1st ex-husband is in an abusive marriage... and it's not him doing the abusing. It happens a lot more than people realise because blokes won't admit to it.

i guess the fear of reprisals is something that stops many women reporting it as the police cant protect you 24 hours a day, and some just want the abusive guy to stay away. my sister was in a relationship like this, until my family and i found out that is, then we took our own action. there were no reprisals. sometimes thats the best way to deal with bullys, you bully them back.

most domestics go down as common assault which is a non custodial sentence(simply a fine).some girl i know had this shit with an ex and i normally find that blokes that hit woman when confronted by another bloke cant handle themselves.lets just say revenge is sweet Razz
