Thinkin' about the "i need help with makeup" thing on "advice"... I started thinkin again... Now I thought I should put this into the deep thinking, but I don't wanna spoil the topic.

So why do women wax and model their eyebrows and wear makeup and men who are doing the same thing are considered effeminated?

And what I'd like to know is who was the first biatch who started this trend. PMSL

Let's say women wax because they feel they're more clean that way (right)... Again, why are men who wax considered effeminated?

Why do women pick their eyebrows? To make themselves even more feminine? What about makeup? We're just like peacocks trying to get attention. Why can't men do it too? Because they have other means?

I for one wax because it's always been there as a sort of unwritten rule and because I sort of like my skin to be smooth. But I like hair on a guy. Not imense amounts, but enough.

It might be a question of women being sort of delicate and men being... Well MEN. PMSL. But why the waxing in particular? Where did this whole thing start?

I wonder if monkeys would do it. Razz

Bygone.

So what do y'all think of this, or what are the other things you don't understand that men do and women don't and vice versa.

She was a beast for not seeing the beauty
He was a beauty for seeing past the beast.

Are you callin' me a beast? Cause I am one, y'know. Laughing Laughing

Anyhow... I don't get what you're saying. I know it's supposed to be meaningful, but I just don't.

No bliss this is all the kinda stuff I was talking baout really. I personally think most/ a lot of women do all that stuff for men/women and it is none that men/women like a smooth bit of lfesh to get a hold of. A lot of people fall victim to the steroetypes that society dictates but each to their own, and I think in a lot od places the sexism is starting to unravel a bit now. It is a lot more acceptable for men to use moisturiser and all the rest of it, sometimes men can go too far but that all depends on the woman/man that is doing the judging!

Well Bliss, I was a teenager in the 80's.
New Romantics.
I love make-up on a man.
I dont equate it with the man being effeminate just because he likes to accentuate his eyes with mascara or whatever.
There are men who like to feel 'womanly' (?) by waxing their legs, wearing make-up and female clothes. I actually have no idea why these men do this, hence the question mark after my word 'womanly'.
I wouldnt ridicule them for it, live and let live.
But, as I say in the 80's what one would have called 'normal straight' men wore make-up a bit and I like it.
And seeing as we all ogle male film stars who are wearing make-up (some not so subtle as others) it is in a sense acceptable anyways?

Why? Do women go too far too? Laughing What would be too far for us? Staying all hairy? Laughing So it's too far for us to stay all hairy and too far for them to go on using pounds of moisturiser and waxing and becoming like us then.

I'm so pissed of at the equality between sexes right now. There's no such thing and there never was. At least not on a question of pure life.
We could've ruled together from the begining. Who was the feck who said women have to take care of kids and men hunt? Just because we bear the kids? Well yeah, that would be a good enough reason. So maybe it's time to just bear the kids and shut the feck up. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

And, Lilac, I don't know... I for one don't like a man to wear makeup. I'm looking for a hunter, not a delicate narcissistic being... Well he can be narcissistic if he brings some good game. Razz But today a good game means business... If I were lookin' for a girlfriend I already have a great one. Laughing And I feel stupid saying that. Why is this all so screwed up?
Were we actually made to be delicate and stay at home and men made to fight and bring food? Or was that a stereotype too?

This is so fecked up. Razz See Wolfie? That's why I don't think.

I'm kinda in the middle here, when I said too far...I meant for some people. Most people have a limit by which they would not want anymore, all usually down to society predicting what is right and wrong, even if it is very subtly. It all depends on the person in question. I do feel that it is all too easy for some people to say 'oh this is wrong' people shouldnt feel/be like that...ok would you go out with a tranvestite...would you give them a chance...go on a date...doesn't matter what you say here only you know the truth of how much you are willing to go with. And it doesnt make anyone any less of a person, we are all just shaped by our backgrounds. But it is also a lil natrual as the whole man hunter thing has been around since the dawn of time, natrual instincts and despite the way the world has gone, and it can seem so far hidden that 'natrual nature', it is still all around us. Sometimes it is horrible that it is this way but sometimes I look at it for the male and femenine qualities and just see it for what it is...nature!

No you are not a beast.

I see a lot of cross dressers, transvestites/sexuals, m/f homo's, there is a lot be said about some and a lot to be said about others, mostly there is too much to be said and not enough told...

Here is a piece of science history for you:

The frog, was once homaphridite until it decided to split into two sexes, which in turn advanced one of lifes many cycles. The worm still is homaphridite, but has been splitting into two sexes. Now contemplate this:

The human soul, spirit, bieng is of one gender. Two halves make a whole. Predomitily, it is only the sexual gender that differs.

If you want to hunt down a wee feral beast for yourself - I'll put the makeup on you for you!

It reminds me of a joke about a man that had a ring rash at the end of his bits - a bright red ring - but it turns out it was only because the good lady was wearing bright red lipstick...

I dont really think that that is how it all is! In my last relationship, my boyfriend was more like the woman stereotype and I more like th emale, that's why I said it all depends on the type of person you are and the way society has shaped you. Personally, I go for huys that are a little more feminine than than most. I like a guy that can not be so tough all the time and let go a little. but that's just me, some women like a guy that will be yough and protect her, I guess I want that to obut I'm just greedy !!! Very Happy

See old photos of Rudolph Valentino, buster keaton, charlie chaplin......they all wore make-up to enhance their looks. Jonny Weismuller waxed his legs. Serious Cyclists today do. Arab men wear kohl on their eyes. and the men hold hands as a sign of friendship. Different cultures.
Apparently Julius Caesar wore just as much make-up as Cleopatra.
So did our kings of old.
Men plucked their eyebrows and wore lipstick in the 1920s.
My dad is 79. We have photos of him, until he went to school aged 5 he had long curly hair down to his shoulders and he wore a dress. It was normal in those days.
People think I am weird because my son aged one wore pink tartan trousers to my wedding. He looked lovely.
I guess everyone has a different take on these things.
