Ok im quite a shy guy and when i set up my profile i didnt want my piccy rated. I have since decided to change that for the time being ( because most of the women who are contacting me arent my type )and thought id have a look on the WHOS HOT or NOT page to see if i was there ( im not )! I was stunned at the LOW SCORES women give to guys, if your really good looking you can expect a 4ish but nearly every other picture was rated a 1-2 What the fu~~...?
If you look at the womens page even the ugliest and yes i say UGLY women are reaching a 3.5 - 4..It looks like the women folk have really high standards and are definately gonna be dissapointed.
So im looking for feedback on this to see what ppl think...

there was a topic similar to this last year iirc and from what i recall, the low scores are actually down to blokes rating others, so they could look through to find their own picture.. i've had a quick look but for some reason, page 2 won't load

I never look at them to rate, don't even know if I've been rated either it's just not important besides if you got a good rating then you probably wouldn't get many women message you 'cos they would think you're outa their league. Don't forget some people have professional pics and wouldn't look the same in real life.
You're better off just using the forums and people will take an interest in your personality aswell.

.....men have high standards on here too don't forget, but why shouldn't they? If you're going to spend time with somebody at least let it be somebody you're attracted to in whatever way that is.
A plain looking guy or girl can be stunning when they're happy and their eyes light up, so there's more to someone than their pic BUT it IS a starting place when you're on line. Incidentally, there's a guy that messaged me today that had a picture of what looks like a black panther, so what's that all about??? so he's gona be one of the few I won't reply to again.

I think Stu is on to something with the hot or not being abused. Quite why people would shift though 1000's of mug shots rating them down, to eventually rate there's up is weird and desperate. But that points to the truth on FB.

It's funny as people with the same 'wily' idea as them, undermines what was a pointless action in the first place.

I'm happy enough with the 'would like to meet' button more than being HOT! At least if somebody has said they'd like to meet you, then you can feel more confident in being proactive and messaging them first.

Ahhh....the "I would like to meet" is a better barometer, better than views also. Although the ladies are never local, and many are from out of the country entirely. (not that they're scammers) It benefits people who can be bothered to fill in their profile

I will have to go on an arena tour of The UK and the major European capitals at some point

I don't think the Hot or Not section is a good idea in any case, because those that are in there regularly are subsequently drooled over and idolised by everyone else, whilst all the 'ordinary' people are left by the wayside.
So, to reward some and not others, and with that reward being based on something like appearance, is in fact a very vain, unsatisfying and generally unprofitable undertaking.

THANKS everyone for the enlightening comments, NOW it makes sense to me but if the guys are giving low scores then as said it does become a little pointless. Maybe the want to meet button is better although i have to admit i only have 3 ppl who want to meet me and i am one of those ( ha ha ) and one of the others wont talk to me again because i said she was a scammer!!!!lol. Oh ill never learn.

I may swing both ways, and more so in the direction of guys, but I generally just stick to rating women tbh.

There's a lot of below par gentlemen on this site and I can't be bothered to sift through them in order to award a worthy score.

Hot or Not seems to have little meaning though. I'm apparently amongst the hottest of the month...hmmm.
