Missme is, I think we all agree, quite correct although there are ways of disagreeing with somebody without hurting their feelings.

If I use the recent posting regarding Boobies as a case in point:

The first post in itself was, perhaps, a little over-dramatic albeit well intentioned. However, some of the posts that followed became nothing more than scathing critisisms that were knee-jerk reactions.

Now, I can't disagree with the content of the reactions, indeed, my own posting on the matter did attempt to put some perspective on the whole thing although not sucessfully enough. What I did find a little harsh was the manner in which the replies were structured.

We all know that Karen is very sensitive. Therefore, a little consideration to her feelings could perhaps have been made.

I think, in essence, what I'm trying to say is whilst there should never be a need to "armpit foot" around people, there is no excuse for a lack of respect for the other users and part of that is knowing what kind of reply is appropriate to the person you're posting to.

I know, for example, I could say to somebody like Morillo "you're talking out of your arse" - He wouldn't take offence at that and, more than likely, reply with something equally quick witted.
Others, however, would take that as a personal insult so a more suitable reply would be needed.

Did that load of rambling make sense ?

Hope so

Of course, if you come on here setting a low tone with the first post then you have to expect that replies are going to be of a similar nature so it's no use complaining and getting in a huff
