"I don't think I have ever known anyone to go out robbing car stereos for money to buy pot though being honest."

I have. I used to re-home them when they came out of the nick.
I've also been involved with under-nourished kids being taken into care cuz mum/dad spent all the money on pot, and were too lethargic to feed/take good care of said kids.
Buuutttt....I could say exactly the same thing for alcohol, except with alcohol the kids had more bruises to show for it.
And more traffic accidents are caused by alcohol than illegal drugs...
And I am sure MOST drug users - legal or otherwise, alcohol, cigarettes etc. are sensible and responsible and use their own money....
All of which is why I will always be undecided as to what should or shouldnt be illegal, and if it would make any difference one way or tuther.
(BUT, CMISO, from a personal point of view, with my own person horrible experience, I *sometimes* think ALL drugs should be not only illegal but zapped off the universe).

Well that is currently true, but the number of illegal drug users is still far lower than those drinking alcohol, so those figures could easily reverse if they were legal. Plus it's easier to prove alcohol is involved.

Well I'd like to keep my hayfever tablets (if I could find any that worked at least). (and I need a tongue in cheek smiley) Sad

Two things our govts will NEVER ban - petrol and alcohol.
a) too much to lose in tax levied
b) many govt bods own shares in oil/breweries.

If the govt could find a way to play down the health/social effects of currently illegal drugs, buy shares into the cartels, they would make it ALL legal in the blink of an eye. AND they wouldn't bother waiting for a referendum on the matter, it would be done at 3am when there's only 4 MPs in the House, and 2 of them will be snoring......

....and the other two would be performing mutual oral on each others 'members' in the back-benches.

Well they won't need to ban the first, soon no one will be able to afford it. And it's running out anyway.

Well said that man!

I reckon that things are a lot worse than what we realise, I can't tell you how much fuel there is, or how long it will last, but I am sure that it is a problem that will ensure that we see MAJOR problems within the next 10 years.

Perhaps when we start seeing petrrol stations running out on a regular basis, our government/the world might actually take the matter more seriously.

I lived on a mobile home park in the 90s, had my petrol syphoned on several occasions....I just wished they'd simply stole that damn Yugo instead! I could have used that 50p insurance claim money!
