Like DotA and HoN, I found these types of games to be a really fun "bonding" experience that really (IMO) brought me and my friends close together countless of times in the past, even when we were countries apart. Being both a conflict solver, tension reliever, and a casual past time for groups of friends wanting to work out the very difficult task of teamwork over vent or skype, its really a brick builder in my relations with my friends.

So this bring me to the main point: Is this applicable else where in other relationships? I mean, should I try the same thing with small children, significant others, or older generations? I'm afraid that they (like most over people) won't really understand the effort needed in coherent and inline teamwork over long distances. For teens my own age, they seem to grasp the entertainment and teamwork side easily like second nature, but if I were to pull something like, with my 10 year old cousin, would it work the same way and give him the same bonding experience?

YES, I've heard the same mundane "should take people outside and bond by playing catch in the mud and blah blah blah..." but that's not an option when I'm continents apart from them at the moment.

Just want opinions!
