As some of you may be aware I attended a karate tournament recently, I took part in Kata (sequence of moves simulating a self defence situation) and Kumite (fighting) I did fine in the Kata, did score as well as i'd liked and didn't get anything for it, but the Kumite really pissed me off.

i made the first move, a straight head level punch with which I made a little bit too much contact.

On a heavy blow the person in question (me) has to turn away from the opponent while they sort themselves out, i was stood there for a good 5 minutes before I was turned around and told due to excessive use of force I was being disqualified from the bout !!!

FFS, I've seen the video and people have also told me that the guy was laying it on real thick with the judge, and was squeezing his lip and constantly had his fingers in his mouth looking for blood, in other words he did his utmost to get me disqualified, he eventually found blood (more likely drew it himself) and so that's why I got d/q.

So annoyed.
