What is it with the Friday/Saturday night questions???
90% of the people ask "What are you doing on Friday/Saturday night?" or "What are you doing home on a Friday/Saturday night?"

I wouldn't be attackin this subject if it weren't for the "What are you doing home on a Saturday nite, don't you have a date/aren't you going out????"

Nope, actually, I'm not going out.

What is it with the Fri/Sat nites? Does everyone have to go out then? Is it a must? If you're not goin' out then is that wrong? Truly, terribly wrong? Does it mean you have nobody to go out with? Well I've got people to go out with, but I just don't wanna.
I'm probably speakin' this way cause I'm not on an 8-5 schedule from Monday to Friday and I do respect people who are working like that, but even if I'm able to go out every nite and don't really have a good notion of the "weekend" I still don't get why it's a must to go out on those Fri/Sat nites. I've got friends who work yet we still meet durin the week and don't find it necessary to spend the weekend nites out.
Besides... What if you don't like to go to clubs and what if you and your bf/gf would rather spend time indoors and you see eachother every other day anyways? What if, what if?

Who decided we should spend weekends out anyways? Our job schedule, of course... But when did it become a plague to spend weekends nights in?

Hi Bliss. I can't remember the last time I spent a Friday or Saturday night out. The responsibilty and costs of having the little baby means that even when I am not working a shift at the weekend, we can't afford to go out and socialise!

However, I think it is accepted as the norm to socialise at weekends rather than during the week, unless you live in a major city, as that is when all the facilites are geared up to offer a decent service.

Well i think the weekend thing is easier for most people who work Mon-Fri or who have children to get out of bed in the morning during the week. I for one would love to go out in the week occasionally its just the 'babysitting' that i have a problem with, its much easier to get sitters at the weekends, well for me anyway.

The BF/GF thing, well i am happy to stay in with mine and so is he .................. x Very Happy

families etc.

I've only recently started going out again having been ill for about 4 yrs and haven't had the energy to go out. But we go to a pub in town where we can sit and chat and hear ourselves think, and yes, its usually a Friday or Saturday night, if not both

Same here. There is also the added bonus of not so many thugs/idiots around.

I dont go to clubs as much anymore, although i am going to an indie night this friday hopefully. I just think if you go out every weekend and get bladdered you are asking for health problems really, there is only so much the body can take of that kind of regular abuse so i am limiting clubbing to once a month

having said that, when i drink at home, or round a friends place i tend to drink less but still get just as p*ssed as i would if i had gone out, i dont know how that works but it does. Also like baggie says, in these days, inner city life has many dangers, one of them being the beer boys/girls who cant handle the drink and have to try having a go at somebody for their entertainment. Its sad, but there is alot more disorder on the streets over the weekends, where people just cant seem to hold their drink and have a good time without throwing their fists about!!

The idea of being 'expected' to go out, comes from those people who feel they 'have' to go out, you have to ask yourself, why do these people feel the need to 'have' to go out? quite simply i expect they probably are scared of being called boring, weak minded is what i would call people like that. Laughing
