Women need on average 3 years to get over a relationship that lasted for 6 years.
Men need 18 months on average to get over it.
However, once women are over it....they have completely finished it and won't regret it anymore...whereas men will usually never completely get over a relationship that lasted for at least 6 years.
(results from some research)
08.06.2008, 13:44 quote
I take all these "research" results with a pinch of salt
Although you are God, and know all. I am not worthy
08.06.2008, 13:48 quote
Which kind of proves my thoughts that women need half the time of how long the relationship was to get over it
08.06.2008, 14:32 quote
Maybe the men feel quilt for longer ........ as it's 'normally' there fault ........
08.06.2008, 14:40 quote

To be honest I have seen a documentation on tv and I am just repeating it
But I think the statistics tend to be write...I don't think they are complete nonsense.
08.06.2008, 19:50 quote
Yep I would agree with those statistics....
Women take half as long as the relationship lasted to get over it....
and men ...well we just carry the scars for a lifetime (runs like feck)
08.06.2008, 20:06 quote
I don't think you can make broad generalisations about things like this. Sure you can find an average or whatever, but some people can just split up and never give it a second thought.

Not me smart arse.
(I assume. I'd need to have a proper relationship to breakup first)>

I think most of my relationships have been well on the way to being over by the time I split so it seems like I've wasted no time at all in finding someone else.
First relationship = 10 yrs; took me 8 months before I started seeing someone else.
2nd relationship = 6 yrs; started seeing someone just before we split up!
3rd relationship (with above guy = 3 1/2 yrs (on and off); met my current fellah 2 weeks later ![]()

If there really is to be a soul mate out there, I think your soul mates are those people who make you feel at home, wherever you are. That hearing their voices and knowing they're close to you (even if in thought) makes you feel at ease. |

Nothing to do with a house full of rabbits then
Seriously though, you can't generalise these thingss and why even bother trying to do so. Sometimes it takes a long time and others you just feel like thank feck thats done with! Different for every person and every relationship.
11.06.2008, 04:56 quote
I said "on average" - which means this is the statistcal average. Some women maybe needed 6 years and some 1 year etc....
The only thing those stats tell you is that women, "on average", need longer to forget a guy.
By the way, if you start seeing someone else this does not necessarily mean you have finished completely with your last relationship....
