I dont find it irritating when they first post that sort of thing.
I only find it irritating when they come back after being away for two days....
(Not that I am not happy to see them back mind you)

What is irritating about it? what's 'unnecessary fuss'?
If you dont want to read about someone leaving, you are free not to read it.
People feel part of a community here surely, if you got on well with one of your neighbors, how would you feel if they just vanished in the night without saying goodbye?
And what if said neighbor casually turned up down the road a bit, if you'd been mates, wouldn't it bother you?
Personally, I like that peeps here feel like they matter enough to make their departure known.

What is irritating as hell though, are the self-pity, and 'beg me to stay' posts, it only takes a second to sniff them out......

Couldn't of said it better myself Megs ..in no way was I being disrespectful to Klee or anyone that posts that they are leaving..I was merely saying that it irritates me..perhaps I should of started my own thread on 'irritating farewells' so sorry to Klee for ruining her time to say 'goodbye'
