People (though it's guys only, cause I've never seen a girl doing it) erase the face of the other people/person in the picture. FFS, it's 2008. There are all sorts of cameras everywhere... Take a chance, take a new pic. And if you don't have a camera, you still have a computer and there are like 10000000 applications with crop options. It seems so creepy. I suppose they don't do it coz they're ashamed of the peeps they're with, but that they want girls to understand the girl in the picture isn't their current girlfriend. What the heck?!?!?!

And one other thing... I also hate it when peeps decide to put half naked pics on their profile (this goes for both), except for the ones taken at the beach or somewhere where you could be like that. I mean what.. You think yer face ain't enough and you gotta show yer muscles too?

Just havin' another moment. Priceless. Bygone.

I was looking at a profile earlier with three people in the picture, and two of the faces had two big black oval circles over them.
Funny thing though, is that they were all women, you probably think that only men do it cos you (mainly) only look at male profiles.

I got into trouble not too long ago cos I had a picture of my daughter in my Facebook pictures album, the ex thought that kiddy fiddlers would get ideas or something.
(Even though my Facebook page is invite only, not public, so she can get fooked)

Never understood that one either; same with the ones who have a pic of themselves with a member of the opposite sex.......usually good looking ones too. What's that all about?!

I think that is just the way that women are different to men.
Women seem to be attracted by what other women think is hot just as much as what they actually like.
Men are different though, they like what they like and not much else.......

Yes I'm with liiacrose on this one, I've got my own taste in men and couldn't care less about whether other people thought he was 'hot' or not. Maybe this is more relevant to younger people who are more affected by peer pressure, but certainly not me.

Like Bliss, I hate to see other people in profile pics. It seems like men have got all the techy stuff when it comes to web cams, but have all the excuses as to why their pics are old. I don't know if all cams do it, but mine can just take a snap and in minutes I can have my pic loaded on site so why don't their web cams do it too?

Perhaps I should have said that I meant in the younger generation (Don't kick my ass for this, I'm NOT calling you old OK!).
Peer pressure influences everything you do when you are younger, but as you get older (and wiser) you learn to think for yourself...........

Maybe a person just wants to put up the photo of themself that they personally like best, regardless of what others might think, or who else is in it? So to protect friends' identities or to make you know which one is them, they 'blot out' the other people?
I do agree that its probably better to just snap a quick pic with a digital camera or webcam, but not everyone's got one. Yes sure its 2008 but we dont all have all the latest gadgetry.
For a long time I had no photo on my computer til someone emailed one over to me and i hated that one of me anyways.
Other than that, I guess its laziness but it must surely take a while to use one of those programs where you can blur a face or two? Surely quicker to get another pic, even if you personally dont like it so much of yourself.
The ones that make me laugh are the 'Here I am 30 miles away from the camera, yup that dot on the horizon" - why bother? It could be anyone! Or the crowd photo - if you dont say which is you, how am I supposed to know?

Whenever I try to take a picture, at the drop of a hat, it never comes out right, I either look like a space-cadet or an alien, or both.
Some people might think the same thing, and have some pictures taken when out and about with mates and totally relaxed, so they look loads better.
