They have been going for a few weeks now, so has anyone been to any of the occupy camps? I have been staying on and off at the occupy London camp outside St Paul's Cathedral.

They were set up originally in New York in early September to protest against the greed of big financial institutions like the big banks who recklessly gambled and lost vast amounts and then were bailed out with tax payers money and then gave themselves massive bonuses.

At the occupy London camp and its offshoot at nearby Finsbury Square there is a lot of activity going on with regular meetings and film shows. There is also a donation only cafe and a 24hour tea and coffee tent. A meditation tent, a library tent and meeting and cinema tent. If you are in London I would advise you to come down and have a look around for a couple of hours.

ive not been, though fully support the cause.
i think my personal ideals are a little bit too far ahead of the agenda that lies with the fight against corporate greed.. but what is happening is going to change the world.. for the better eventually...

And how will the change be effected? Confused

Government will most likely have to impliment it. A big change in banking regulations is the most likely outcome. Incidently back in 1844 the government passed legislation regulating the banks. It temporally scrapped the practice of banks lending money which they do not have. Unbelievably banks are allowed to lend money they do not have. They do it by selling the loan contract they make with a lender to the government which then prints and gives them money to the value of the loan. This video cartoon explains it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwW3EZIPXe0&feature=related
What is needed is a sane money and banking system that isn't based on debt.

Greystone has it right.

Personally, I would like to see anarcho-syndicalism take place on a worldwide scale. I know how unlikely this is, and I know I'm opening the door here for a slew of deep discussion/debate and possibly argument...

..but, it makes sense as a stepping stone to a new way of thinking ... something yet to be discovered.

I also think the eradication of money on the whole is probably a good idea, with time... The Venus Project has some fantastic ideas.

Sounds interesting....will have a read up I think. I support the action against corporate greed, its beyond belief, they are taking what they want, when they want, because they can. I think capitalism is out of control and needs adjusting but to what, how?? etc....I do not know.
