Well, what did you get for your birthday then? I hope it was something hand crafted or artistic. Or a season ticket for the Poppy Line (Sheringham | Holt of course!) Laughing

That would have been lovely 'cos the steam train is expensive. My next season ticket will probably be for the zoo that's opening around the corner from me:)and may provide a short cut into town.
I've been given some money to treat myself, and also geological gifts, a lump of selenite, and a piece of malachite and an early morning delivery of potted orchids so it's all cool. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'd love to do one of those... or one of those murder mystery weekends in a mansion or something. I fancy myself as a bit of a Sherlock Holmes..

Nope, you're up to date with all this info dh, I'm impressed.
I'm not expecting to see anyone today either. I used to go to Walthamstow Stadium on my birthday with all my mates, but now I'm too far away, but had quite a few messages and phone calls.
I'm gona eat my crab soon... followed by strawberries and now I'm deciding whether to drink cider or open a bottle of white or rose wine Very Happy

Walthamstow Stadium has closed down anyway.

Don't think 'the dogs' close until August but I could be wrong.
Murder on the Sheringham Express cost £45 but it includes a 3 course meal and has a storyline for you to spot the villain so it's probably a popular event.

I wouldn't mind doing one of those mystery weekends, sounds fun. Razz

Oh is it August? Thought it had gone already. Shame really.

£45 seems like quite a good price for that especially including the meal... how long does it last??

Oh wow! That's a work of art titwhipper ty

I don't know how long the *****express evening is, but I guess it's got to take into account that you'll want to eat your meal in a leisurely fashion, and the trains don't normally run in the evenings so

The special event evenings usually last the equivalent of 2 round trips (Sheringham - Holt - Sheringham, twice). Train leaves at 19.10 and event ends at 22.30.

I'm a mine of useless information. I bet Sue didn't even know I knew she had an interest in the Poppy Line train

Oh, the Murder Mystery events are listed here http://www.nnrailway.co.uk/murdermysteries.htm

No I didn't, but maybe you found my brief review about the Poppy Line on the web?? I didn't know it was there until now. Scarey, I seem to be everywhere from steam trains to helicopters to speaking out of lamp posts ...but with different names

There were allegations of foul play after he made the count, mainly as only a dozen people voted. But it was allowed to stand.
