Well what an interesting couple of months it has been on here. in fighting, members getting banned and/or removed, bitterness, bitching, etc, etc

And it mainly seems to be since a few members of FB decided to get together and create their own forum. Maybe I'm wrong here but I was under the impression that the internet is a free-for-all place where people can come and go as and when they choose from wherever they choose. There is keyword there CHOOSE

Yet it seems that if anyone from FB decides to join MSC then they are outcast from FB. When I joined FB I didn't realise I signed a contract to say that I was not allowed to go to any other forum on the internet, especially any site that may appear to be a rival to FB.

Time for me to put the record straight once and for all. MSC was NOT set up as a rival to FB. It was set up as ANOTHER forum that people could join if and when THEY choose. Again, theres that magic word CHOOSE. MSC does not make people join, they ask if they would LIKE to join. Members of MSC have a choice to post wherever they like, be it here or any other forum they wish. We DO NOT condem members if they are also members here.

The reason I'm writting this is because a member of FB was recently booted because they PM'd a couple of members asking them would they like to join MSC as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but PM means Private Message yeh? So what is said in a Private Message should be exactly that...Private. They did not put the message in an open forum where it can be deemed as spamming. If that was the case then fine, remove the member if your rules forbid it. But asking members questions in a PM isn't spamming.
If a MSC member PM's another member to say 'Hey come look at this site I'm on' then fine, they are welcome to.

In all honesty I find this act of removing the member somewhat childish. Why remove them? What is there to be scared of? It seems that FB is concerned about MSC for some reason. Oh I know some of you will say FB isn't scared or worried, etc etc. But before you start laying into me just have a think WHY is there so much anamosity between the two boards? FB has an extremely large member database then other boards would be jealous of. MSC is young and and even though is doing well will probably never reach the figures FB has. But I'm sorry to say that the way FB is treating its members the numbers will dwindle. Do you want this Toby?

I'm not talking about the recent saga between Karen and Catherine. That was out of order and the right steps were taken in that case. But then in that thread a new member was attacked because they had read what had been happening and put their own views across. WTF? Apologies were made to the member after it was put right that they were new, but it seemed that this member was attacked because maybe they were a member of MSC. It wasn't mentioned but reading between the lines it was implied.

MSC has taken steps to prevent any bad mouthing of FB on the boards. Any member who posts anything about FB or indeed any other site, that post is instantly removed and the member is warned not to do it again. MSC does not want to create any bad vibes. They are here purely to allow members to post, chat, have fun, learn, teach, whatever they want. In fighting is also not allowed and steps have been taken where this has occured. It's nipped in the bud at the first sign of anything like it happening.

Before you critacise me and say well I bad mouthed FB at the start of this post, let me say that I'm NOT bad-mouthing FB, I'm just annoyed at the way FB tends to treat some of its members.

If you hadn't already guessed, I'll let you know now that not only am I a member of MSC, I'm the board owner and head Admin. And I'm asking that this bitterness that FB seems to have with MSC stops. We don't slag FB off so don't slag MSC off please.

Hi there!

First of all, sorry for trimming this thread and deleting all other replies - I just want to keep it short and answer to Ringer with a single message.

Yes, Flirtbox is exklusively for nice people. If members complain about someone we have the right to kick him/her out (compare it witha nighclub).

Everyone can choose freely create his or her own website.

Once people start spamming other members by asking them to join another website, this leads to those members being banned from Flirtbox primarily for 2 reasons:

1. people do not want to be spammed with advertising on Flirtbox

2. if you want to advertise your website use Google Adwords or any other form of legal advertising.

If members are banned and keep coming back to the website anyway, under a new username and with a new email adddress - in order to make trouble, you are doing something illegal and you should be aware of the consequences.

You can compare Flirtbox with a nightclub - if you are a troublemaker you are not allowed to get back in.

Once private messages are reported, they need to be read in order to find out why there has been a complaint, as simple as that.

it is the only pragmatic solution to keep the site the way it is. If I did not remove about 50 profiles every day, the website would be ruined in the long-term. Even if sometimes innocent profile are removed - but I do not have the time, patience or money for other solutions.

And now I ask all troublemakers to quietly leave the Flirtbox website and continue arguing and somewhere else....please!
