| In this small amount of time i have noticed something, now may i ask..
if i'm writing someone a private message simply because i like the look of them or there profile, or even just things they say on forum topics. Is it bad? i mean a private message is only to the sense of wirting them a simple 'hello' (of course to get here anttention) but you see they either dont write back or i get the idea they think i'm coming onto them or being pervy.. isn't the point of this place to get to know ppl? answers on a postcard.. |
It is a common complaint/observation on these type site. Does seem you have a better chance of success if you post on the forums/boards.
One bit of advice from something I've noticed from personal experience. Women seem to like jokey descriptions and profiles. Doesn't have to bear any resemblance, or say anything about you. Just has to make them giggle.

| one of the reasons i don't really reply to messages any more is that im already talking to a few people regularly and adding to the amount of conversations i have to keep straight in my head would make my brain hurt
in essence some times it not being rude if people dont reply and its not that you profile is bad its just the wrong time to be trying to talk to them |
This is indeed, another thing, to bear in mind.

Yes, but would it not be polite just to send a reply to say no thanks?

the only time i tried that i got a particularly rude message back, so i just don't

A "no thanks" (in my experience) has often resulted in a needless and pointless conversation. Yes it is polite.......... and I am all for being polite but sometimes a "no thanks" is taken as an insult. Now I'm of the opinion....if you don't have anything nice to say...say nothing.
