He wouldn't, but it's a 4 hour drive away (8 hour round trip) and I haven't even enough money for half a dozen eggs let alone fuel at the moment.

I'll chat for as long as i can without crying I don't like them seeing/hearing me upset at their ages. Hard to believe he's nearly 8, they grow up so fast Smile

yeah my eldest was six last june and i can't believe it.... where have the years gone? seems like only yesterday i was waddling down the street getting stitches in my stomach from walking lmao. i remember her as a newborn. she had a ring around her head cos the nurses demanded i stop pushing. said i wasn't fully dialated yet and there was no way she was ready to be born.... so instead of pushing i squeezed rofl.

turned out i knew better than the nurses... she had this dinted ring around her head at the temples from me squeezing when she was ready to come out.

oh memories. haha

Hope you don't mind me sending you a hug.
Can't imagine how you feel, as I haven't got kids myself, but hope you can keep a big smile on your face for the phone call.

Could you suggest that you met half way for his birthday, have a day out, if you have a good relationship with his Dad? Just a thought.

Thanks for the hugs both of you Very Happy Too late to arrange anything Spare as they're throwing him a b'day party for tomorrow and I don't want to interrupt anything. i think the ex might be accomodating, but James being the average kid will see it as a change of plans, therefore a nuisance Very Happy Plus, cos he's diabetic, a lot of planning has to go into the food he'll be able to eat tomorrow so can't change any of those at the last minute.

He'll be fine and that's all that matters. Very Happy

You sounda bit more positive in your last post Red. Sort of resigned to your sone being the important one on his birthday. That's really unselfish of you. Got my fingers crossed that ou hold it together for the phone call.
Big smiles. Very Happy

Hi Red,

Just wanted to say - hope the phone call went well and you managed to get through it without getting too upset.

Hope you have a good day despite missing your little boy.
