Is anyone else really tired of people on here being the following:

1> Spammers
2> Con artists trying to get you to phone or log onto mad things to pay their morgages.
3> Perverts who clearly have a lack of self control

I know it's a free website, so we should be prepared for the fakers... but i for one am tired of it.

still single, slightly less sparky, but always living in hope.

Do what I do. Hit delete and move on to the next one. Simple really.
There's a book called "Don't sweat the small stuff".
Why oh why do you let these people raise your blood pressure and irk you? Sod 'em, they ain't worth the energy.
If you do get sucked in for a while before you clue in, gratefully accept it as a learning curve on how to spot the next time-wasting oxygen thief.
If your time really is so precious that you cannot possibly afford to waste a wee while on the scammers et al, then you really shouldn't be here at all.
Just enjoy the good bits and ignore the rest! Very Happy

couldnt this be applied to almost anything in life? Enjoy the good stuff, ignore the annoying stuff and put the bad stuff down to experience. But how many people actually do that? Confused

Exactly. That's what the book's about! Like all self-help books, good for inspiring you while you read it, til the novelty of being inspired wears off and you go back to the usual state of being annoyed by the 'small stuff', like scammers and spammers on flirtbox..... Laughing

Its better to be annoyed by annoying things than brave-facing it and venting in the wrong situation though

lol so what scammers have we encountered so far then so we might help others to avoid them?

Recently i encountered one girl who seemed really quite a nice open person and talkative. She then randomly gave me her phone number. What was odd about the number was that it was an 070 type. which seems like a mobile number but is actually a forwarding number, no doubt to other scam lines that cost loads of money etc Sad

also do girls receive as many scammers as the guys?

I don't think the girls get as many scammers. I tend to get requests for marriage packaged in some interesting copy and paste messages.

Have a look at http://www.flirtbox.net/sex/post-you-re-dirty-weird-funny-messages-here-.html

It will give you an idea of what us ladies put up with.

Change your profile to say that you are looking for a Russian wife and are as rich as Bill Gates, but write it to make yourself sound a single-brain-cell hopeless romantic....they'll come flocking.
