mines a hammer got told off a policeman to keep it by my bed (yrs back when i had been burgled when out the house) with nails and a picture as if i was ready to hang it then i would be deemed as defending myself where as any random object used is classed as assault?

I would give them a good bashing, I got told though that if you bash them with a vase or something like that, it's more of a case of defending yourself as it is a normal household object, not something that you would pre meditate harming someone with?

i cant see how that if u keep an object for safety and leave it somwhere for any length of time.....

this surely cannot be pe-meditated
the intent to use may be their..but thats all
and in any case......wudnt stop me defendin my property.....

Morally i'd be inclined to wrap 'hugh the cue' round some burglars head, but they're bound to be bigger than me, probably quite desparate, possibly drugged up etc. so i reckon the coward in me would surface!
And also, Hey, it's all insured, maybe I'd get a whole load of new stuff Very Happy

(oh and maybe a big dog and a burglar alarm)

Imo, if you break the law, you should remove yourself from protection by it. I think if someone physically breaks into your house, you should be able to do anything to them (within reason).

I live in south london!!!!

I am blocking the door of the room I am in, hunking down, letting them get on with it and then ringing the insurance company afterwards!!!

Stupid I may be, suicidal I am not!
