I love Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! At The Disco, Hundred Reasons, etc. Yeah, I'm probably emo.

Mocker

(because this is the 21st century version of the old "mod or rocker" thing, and I chose mocker then, so I'm choosing Mocker now - also I tend to mock fashion trends)

I'd say dress wise I probably fit in more towards emo, but I do love my 90's Britpop and the Madchester Scene - I cannot call the Stone Roses, Bluetones, Oasis, Blur and Charlatans anything less than perfect!

I sometimes get people ask me what kind of music I'm into; when I respond they look shocked and say I dress as though I should be into something a little harder or more underground than my beloved Britpop!

Bah, stereotypes! Emo's are not all depressing, usually it's young teenagers syndrome - lots of teenagers get that - whether they are chav, hippy or goth! Emo's do not cut themselves, and the ones that do are only attention seekers ( and should be referred to a darn doctor if you ask me!)

I believe the catagorised people are very very badly blown up and stereotyped. Not all hippies wear 70's throwback tiedye floaty clothes, have flowers in their hair and chug about in VW Camper Vans.

I believe these groups of people were formed because it is the media's perception of a "normal society" - that we should all conform to groups/catagories of people.

Anyhow, thats my bit done, over and out!

Cheers, have a great Bank Holiday Weekend Everybody!

Kel

CHEAP ARGOS BLING, LMAO LMAO LMAO!!!!!

Damn that was funny, it's kind of true...

I can't really describe how I dress, I see some emo guys, their trousers are so tight, I don't roll like that, I like to have a bit of space in my trousers, damn. I like funky styles of clothes =) I guess I can't be called a Chavmo :/ Do these trainers make me a chav? Very Happy

One day you'll see me looking like a business man in a suit, the next day a chav, and the next a soldier, I'm not even gonna write the list of what I've worn and looked like. On a desperate day I've even worn old dark green fisherman trousers short in leg length with a dark green thick material shirt which would be perfect for winter but it was summer, one of those golfing waistcoats and basketball shoes which are black with a bit of metallic blue =) The music I listen to mainly what I call the mentally ill style which is, psychedelic trance and hard acid techno Smile God knows if the music makes me dress the way I do.

emo is only a fashion trend and music genre, therefore if you call yourself emo its the same as saying your a pair of socks, or saying your electro, and the emotional business, the word emo was a random word used to name the new music genre, it was never short for emotional and never meant emotional, therefore, its pretty much a fake craze

I was under the impression that 'emo' was derived from the emotional punk bands such as Minor Threat and Fugazi..?

Admitedly, what is called 'emo' now has FA to do with those straight-edge types and more to do with a crappy image conscious fashion, vain boys, and depressing music more akin to a toned down goth thing...
