Well im a little more callous in my interpretation of it

Down to earth to me is someone who recognises their circumstances and deals with it. Personally due to my job ill never be able to afford a family, so i've had to make a concious decision between my job and my prospects of a family, and as its happened i've chosen my job. I'll never have or be able to afford a family and through a clinical rationalisation of it i like to think i've made my peace with it. I regret it sometimes, but i think my job is worth it. Others would have made the same choice in that they have set a goal, either family orientated or not, the goal is there and you can work that into a relationship if the partner is honest with you in what they want/expect from life.

Mind you the head in the clouds person simply sigify's to me and in a beautiful way someone who's mind isn't made up yet. As far as a person who's head in the clouds is concered, their life can take any direction yet, and that raw potential is just as attractive as someone who has everything planned. Whilst everyone needs a rock of some sort in a relationship, floating free can be just as fruitfull as well. I guess it depends on how relaxed people are when it comes to love.

That would be more how I would interpret it. Down to earth is someone who is grounded and has a very realistic view to life. It can also mean 'salt of the earth' type people.

I would say I'm a bit of both. I'm realistic and there's even a little of the 'salt of the earth' in me... ie I'd do anything (within my means) to help a friend. I'm also still a bit of a daydreamer and somewhat 'ditzy' at times Very Happy
