the line of thought prompted during a thread led me to ask this one of the forum

do you judge people...
a)in the dating sense.
b)as they come into your lives
c)in general - over their actions and such.

note: i've edited it since "some" have asked it to be narrowed out

It's in our make-up as human's to judge unfortunately..I guess most of us can be guilty of it in one way or another..take for example, receiving a message on here..then going to look at the person who sent it..if we don't like the look of them then most often we don't reply..we have judged that person on a pic or a profile content..and yes I have been guilty of that!!

I guess if we were more tolerable to others that don't always fit into a 'typical' stereotype, then maybe we would be less judgemental..

Yup, it’s human nature unfortunately as Susie said. Only usually people I know in person though unless someone seriously pisses me off. In a dating sense i never judge anyone or write them off on a first date as it takes a while to get to know someone properly. I'm more likely to ask a person about something that bothered me rather than Judging then initially.

i 'read' people like books.. generally simply by the way they talk on the phone or by their bodylanguage you can tell what kind of person they are, what sort of mood they are in etc, so i guess i do judge people, even if i don't realise i'm doing it alot of the time..

so you mean Judging as in, for example, ...someone who is in favour of blood sports that you may find repulsive or someone who sleeps around that you may find morally questionable? ....would also be a yes for me as (i) couldnt overcome things that i feel go against my own nature.

it was meant to be a reaction as an answer. i guess pointing it toward that thread set a precedent for it, that's all. if a precedednt were to be set i guess it would be in judging other people, dating material or regardless.

It all depends what context your talking about then Shirazkhan..the question 'do you judge' is rather broad..

I have to use 'my' judgement every day at work..I have to judge a person's condition, and then act upon it..

So what is it actually you are asking 'what we judge?' lol

Of course we judge. After all, each of us is the highest authority that we know of.

What's more, most of us tend to pre-judge too. We encounter a situation, look back on our experience and precedents, and make a pre-emptive decision. Call it prejudice, or call it survival.

Everyone judges, how is it possible not to. You can judge people nicely or harshly, depending on who you are as a person. A person's appearance, the way they act, the things they say you judge all of it. It's the only way to understand what is happening in your brain. How can you ever know who a person is until you have discovered what they are not. How can you know what they are not until you know what they are. It's a catch 22, You have to use your own perception and your own judgements if you ever want to get anywhere.

The little faults that lie in each and every one of us, are what make you all who you are, don't you think?
None of us are perfect, not by a long shot, I do think we are all different, and to me, that just makes us all that little bit more interesting.....
I take notice of a lot of things in people, perhaps some things that others don't, but I definately don't judge.

So, just remember I am watching you all, and taking notes OK?

Judging is an important part of being aware and conscious, that would be common sense, but what you base your judgments on and how they affect the way you relate to others and in turn how they relate to you is a truly unique and personal thing that is based upon past experience and perceptions.
