So come on then folks, time to know if you belive in ufo's?
If so, relive your experiences (if any) here. And no i don't want wild stories of yourself being abducted....all though it would explain supporting west brom
(sorry couldn't help it)
Good win by the way
Anyway, let's find out please.....
i have one, It was around the mid eighties in suffolk, I was at school and me and some friends at night, before we were due to perform in #ahem# a school choir concert, saw some strange lights in the sky above the playing field, so went to investigate. Anyway this light...changing colour was shining on the field, then quickly stopped, and appeared instantly a lot closer to us, then stopped again, and again closer....it was at this point we ran.
anyways....any one else seem something they can't explain?

I dunno whether I believe in UFO's or not. I;m sure there's life out there in the Universe, but whether they've been here? I dunno.
Personally I'm of the opinion if they have turned up they did a scan of the planet realised what warmongers we are and how violent we are as a race and thought better of making contact and just buggered off back to Alpha Centauri.
But yeah, as for personal experiences. I was walking home from somewhere one day, and it was l 11 at night, and as I'm walking from the bus stop I look up and I see two orange lights in the sky. I thought they were lights from a plane or something, but then they started to circle each other and then blinked out.
UFO's? Maybe. Creepy? Almost certainly.

We, as a species, are a chance occurance. Our entire existence is some great cosmic accident, the right chemicals coming together under the right conditions, to create what has evolved into us.
The idea that this chance occurance could have happened elswhere in the ever-expanding universe is not so far fetched. However, it would be millions of light years away from us, and the idea that they would have developed the technology neccesary to travel these great distances is something from the realms of science fiction.
Are the aliens? Maybe. Are there UFO's? It is a possibility. Are these UFO's in our skies? Probably not.
At this point, I could reply to the WBA comments with a joke about Wolves fans and anal probing. But I am going to rise above it. I am going to be the bigger man. Or at least the one that can still walk right.

UFO's by their very name are "real". Unidentified Flying Objects. It's when you get down to working out the nature of individual incidents, and thus discarding everyday occurances and natural phenomenon that things get interesting.
Personally, i've never witnessed anything remotely out of this world, other than some of the pictures on the boobies thread
, lol, but the folks at www.disclosureproject.org have literally hundreds of "expert" military, government agency, scientific and other professional witness testimonies which make interesting reading or viewing (go to google video and enter disclosure project).

I begin to wonder, if there was a civilization on these other galaxies that started their existence before us then such technology could have been found by them already. Also they may not have the other things that have held us back from such exploration/innovation, such as religion, wars, crap politicians/rulers etc. For all we know, our little planet could be the dunce of the universe
Our science is only really just beginning, so we still have a long way to go in terms of learning more about ourselves and things like deep space....animals are still being discovered in the very deepest parts of the oceans! so you know that even on our own planet we have more to learn yet.
When i see a UFO myself, i might start actually believing it, until then i will try to keep an open mind about it.

You know, even if there is nothing else out there but primative life forms...I'm kinda betting on that.

so you actually believe that we are alone amongst billions of galaxys, and with each galaxy having trillions of stars, you really believe we are alone.....
scary!
28.08.2007, 08:12 quote
To be perfectly honest with you I'm probably very ignorant regarding this topic as I really dont know much about galaxys and stars etc
28.08.2007, 10:23 quote
hee hee thats ok.
ok on a clear night look up in the sky.....and you should see (Depending on light pollution) millions of dots....these are suns like our own each one probably has at least one planet....a planet is discribed as a largish body in orbit of a star.
So lets do some basic math here. Scientist think there is about ONE HUNDRED BILLION stars in the galaxy....this is 100,000,000,000.
there are on record at the moment 3000 galaxies, but hubble has only tracked 0.4% of the sky! so it could work out at about EIGHTY BILLION Galaxies....
you do the math.

I don't believe in 'UFOs', but I believe there could possibly be life on other worlds, but believe we'll never know.
Also, you know that stuff 'I cant believe its not butter'?
Well, I can't believe I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and the stuff I can't believe is not I Can't Believe It's Not Butter are not butter, and I believe that they both just might in fact be butter, but in cunning disguises, and in fact there's a lot more butter out there than we believe.

Of course there is life elsewhere in the universe, we'd be idiots to think othewise.
Take Drakes equation, enter the smallest numbers you can think of for each part of the equation, and you still end up with thousands of planets with life of some sort on.
I kind of doubt that 'intelligent' life (assuming advanced technology capable of travelling the vast distances involved) would actually be arsed to come to this planet though, unless by accident, in much the same way as if you or I were travelling to a town we didnt know and took a wrong turn and ended up in an industrial estate or chavvy town centre after dark.

i don't think they'd be too impressed with our tele transmissions. They can take me if they want, i've seen enough. If it's dna they're after then i'd be up for some coss breeding, probably the only shag i'll see this side of warp drive, my...what big eyes you have.
30.08.2007, 17:02 quote
"Brian, set course for that planet they call earth. We can share technology with them and perhaps they know more about the universe than we do"
"I don't think that would be a good idea, nor do I think they are as superior as us"
"Why's that?"
"They appear to be fighting, over something they call a sport. Something they call football"
'That's preposterous! Those sorts died out thousands of years ago... so they are! Lets go to that other planet where all the females are what they say... super freaks..."
"The scary kind of freak?"
"No... the ones that won't be able to keep their hands off of us...
"
