I did think of loads of fictional characters, however, being as they are fictonal, my imagination fills the gaps, and I dont want to be dissapointed

If you grew up in Germany then at least you could talk with Hitler. I would definitely want Leonardo da Vinci on my list, except my Italian isn't up to much!
