Due to popular demand I thought I'd open my own little column for those of you who may be dabbling in a little DIY.. now I should stress I'm not a professional.. althought my DIY recently has been looking like something out of Laura Ashley which I am quite proud of.. but I thought it would be nice to share these little stories....and here others of course and maybe if we need help like should I go for vinyl or matt etc and it just occurred to me that some of you could be professionals so that would add an extra dimension

I was thinking of touching up a few chair legs tomorrow. Should I go for cuprinol or ronseal? Also, are magnolia walls a bit last week?

no magnolia can be good.. but do one feature wall if your room can carry it.. thats very in now and you can bring colour in with it

em i think i may have a problem that sounds like what i was supposed to be achieving but i was too tired after appyling the paint so left it to dry...was i supposed to put on the varnish immediately.. is this the premature end of my career as a diy guru?

There's a metal paint that does a similar thing. You paint it on, then it cracks and lets lines of rust appear. Supposed to give a weathered look. The same look that Austin Motors spent years trying to eliminate

hell if I know tbh Loveleelady, the ex did all the painting while she was on Hols (was a teacher see) so didnt get near enough the tin to find out if you need to leave it to dry first, the end result isnt what I'd recommend though.

As for Guru I was going to ask how much you charged for a one to one consultation but I thought better of it due to it being misconstrude by the world at large

misconstrude? Surely you mean you'd take her in the front room and await her opinion on how it could be touched up better
