We all have this in common in that we are all a day closer to death but where is going to be your final resting place, Buried 6ft under or cremated ashes scattered or would you like someone to keep your ashes in a urn on the mantelpiece?Sorry if this upsets anyone with this talk of death.Forgot or is anyone going to donate their body to medical science or maybe cyrogenics?

Death doesnt upset me in the least. you come to realise that life is more important than death in respect to life being like a soap bubble.

the important thing is how high you can fly before you pop. Smile

when i die, i hope to have a few people who will shed tears for me. but not of sadness. put it this way, when i die i want people to sit around a fireplace and remember me. they should be laughing about me and the things i did with them rather than the room going silent and them crying.

I dont really care what happens to my body after death. it's just a shell anyways.

i want to be cremated because it's cleaner and takes up less space. What happens to my ashes is down to how-ever collects them - they can hoover me up and use the urn for flowers if they really want !! Laughing

Death doesn't bother me, why fight the inevitable ?

Yeah, I feel like this too, but I want to die, having left many beautiful paintings to 'feed the spirit' for people long after I've gone, and to be remembered with joy, rather than sadness.

..... cremate it! Any ashes worth scooping up I'd love to have scattered on a field of wild poppies.

As for being afraid of death, it's inevitable. Why fear something that is going to happen no matter what? Personally, i would find it a blessed release.

I will be burnt and my ashes scattered in a really nice wood so I can blow around free.

I don't really care what happens to me when I die. I'll be dead, so it won't effect me. How will I know anyway? lol.

I'd prefer to be cremated, though.

How about the Viking chief method (as depicted by Kirk Douglas)?

Set adrift in a burning ship, with a dog lying at your feet.

Yeah, that's bloody great that is actually. I'd love to go out like that. The old metal band Bathory used to write Viking themed songs and some of the imagery was marvellous.

"When the wind cries out my name
And time has come for me to die
Then wrap me in my cape
And lay my sword down at my side.
Then place me upon a ship of oak
And let it drift with the tide
Let the flames purify my soul
On its way to Hall up High."

I'm going to be buried in a plot of ground already ear-marked (and protected, should i not die for another umpteen years) in Managed Woodland, in a recycled cardboard coffin. I'd rather be worm food than some poor sod's dandruff as they walk past the crematorium.
