Being an Essex boy, I've always noticed modified cars and also classic cars.

One of the things that's kind of annoying, are people that can't distinguish between the 3 classes and make us all out to be bad people, speeding, showing off doing burnouts, handbrake turns etc etc

I would say that in one week of my local newspaper (the Evening Echo) there would be atleast 3 articles of people complaining about cruisers or boy racers or anyone with a modified car.

As some of you have probably read, i half own a Ford Enthusiast site, so a post like this is kinda pointless on there as they'd all come up with the same conclusions etc.

What i'd like to know is, what are you're opinions on those of us that chose to modify our cars - do you 'tar' every type of modified car driver with the same brush ?

Modified cars are cool.

It's just all those tossers with kids trying to sleep at night that start complaining all the time. I mean playing decent music at intollerable levels is what it's all about now days, ask any well educated youth hanging around the local shops.

My dad has a souped-up, modified boy-racer Ford Escort, and he's 79 in 2 weeks!
I dont have a word of criticism for anyone on the road - pushbike or rolls - as long as you dont cut me up on the roundabout or tailgate me, if you have a nice car - be it a classic, cruiser, modified etc etc then all i will shout out my window at you is "Luv the wheels!!"

Personally, I love customised cars!

To take a soul-devoid production tin can, and to turn it into something very special deserves nothing but praise, as far as I'm concerned.

I built and owned 4 kitcars over a 15 year period, and even though I work in the automotive industry I have a healthy distain for anything that comes off a production line (including my current car).

Having said all that, it's the brain-dead who endanger other people with their appalling driving habits who will continue to give the customisers a bad name. Pity.
