Ok, so i figured that being as 'she' isn't single.. there's no reason why i shouldn't butter her up a little anyway, whilst staying firmly away from that coma inducing friend status.. So, i've been doing a little digging for some subtle compliments, just to keep her sweet if nothing else and i've come up with precisely nowt. Well, nothing that i'd actually use.

The usual "you look great" or, "that's a nice outfit" are obviously on the list, but what else do you ladies like being complimented on, that isn't going to make me seem any more idiotic than talking already does ?! Laughing

C'mon, i want to see a long REALISTIC list, that isn't going to make her think i just want to get in her knickers, because quite honestly i don't, well, not at the moment (i actually think you should get to know someone properly before that).

I still think your looking at the friends status the wrong way tbh and unsure how the compliments will come across from "the guy at work"

But anyway....

I like to be complimented on my eyes, its rare it happens but when it does it makes me smile!

also i like it when i get told i have nice hands too, i do get it alot and love it!

But both of them can only come across well from either a "friend" not a random guy!

I pretty much like compliments when I feel I deserve them. Like when I've worked my butt off for something and the results are great. So I ain't the best at sayin', however...

I've heard (and pretty much believe) that women like to be complimented on small things that nobody notices... Like the way their hair smells or stuff like that. I don't really know the little things, but if you pay attention you may find them.

And although compliments mostly matter when they come from someone you like, there are never too many compliments (except for 100 compliments per minute) so you can't really go wrong with almost any compliment you'd pay.

I also like it when people say I'm the smartest one, but that's mostly because I do believe I am really smart. LOL And I like it when mortals (even if they're mortals) see it too. Razz

I also wear glitzy things and I love it when people compliment them because I like shiny things and I wear them coz I like the stares and, well, the way they shine. Razz

I don't think dis helped, but it was my 5 pennies. Razz

One last thought... Compliments are almost never badly received (unless they're really vulgar, and sometimes not even then, really depends on the circumstances and how many compliments that person usually receives).

i'm not entirely sure, but if i complimented her on the way her hair smells, she'd either punch me in the face (she is a little fiesty Wink ) or i'd get the sack for being some kind of weird stalker Laughing

We all luv ya though Bliss, you're so wonderfully random that no one cares if your posts make sense or not !

I always follow compliments with a comment, seems pretty obvious, but a lot of people don't. If you just compliment them and leave it at that it can seem insincere, or like you're only after getting into her kickers.

Complimenting is good obviously, within reason. Its pretty easy for example I'd just pick something I liked about a person, maybe a ring, earring, necklace and say you like it.....or that looks good on you or something similar Smile

As far as this one particular person goes, personally It sounds like you are getting stuck on her, maybe you think she's the perfect woman for you? I've been there, looking back I probably made a tool of myself, haha!....move on, plenty of fish in the sea, I did and it worked for me...... Single again now though Smile But hey I'll find the right one yet!!

i like to be complimented on my eyes in person because it doesnt happen often.

and i dont like it when i laugh or smile with my mouth open because i hate my teeth but when somebody comments on that in person i really like that too

also once somebody commented on the array of nail varnish colours he had seen me wearing over time, which as much as it is creepy, was kind of endearing lol

i like being told i'm classy (appearance and personality). especially when i was at uni because i was judged negatively because of my northern accent.

the smell of the ladies hair is a good one too.

i'd have thought that would be the thing you were complimented on most. You can see from your pics how pretty amazing they are.

I'd like to be complimented on little details which means the guy really paid attention whether it pertains to appearance, wit, something I've said or done. Compliments on eyes, smile, scent are classic... never fails to make me smile.

I also like it when somebody tells me that I'm a beautiful person (modesty aside ... I hope whoever told me that was not pulling my leg lol!) which refers not only to outer but inner beauty. Means that you've spent a lot of time with someone and talked about more profound things and you know about that person more. Would also be nice to be complimented on something that your girl enjoys doing like say cooking or photography etc. That one has to be sincere though.

Had loads of compliments from my bf a few days ago (in person) sweet baby ga, good gal & sexy face to name but a few

Oh & my nails get cpmpliments, always have for years...

We all love compliments depending whos giving them to you, some matter & mean more than others, but they do make you smile & feel good about yourself, also gives you confidence....keep them coming I say...
