theres being clever.. then theres common sense.
its said that we usually have more common sense if we are not so clever.. and more common sens eif we are not so clever.. is there a line inbetween?

is it easier to get by with more common sense?

or is it easier to get by with more knowlege?

can u just go by ur instinct with something or do you have to work it out first?

so tell me...

do you have common sense? or have you the brains of the class?

I think it's better to have a good balance between the two.

If you have got common sense, but you aren't overly smart, then how can you use the common sense?

If you are smart, but lack common sense, how can you show that you are smart?

I think the two go hand in hand.

Good reply Laura.

I sometimes have too much common sense. It stops me from being quite as spontaneous as I would like. I'm also relitavely smart. As you say, the two go together.

I think I've got both and that's the way I like it Very Happy (not so sure others would agree though)

However, I'm nowhere near as intelligent as other members of my family, but in terms of being clever rather than knowledge, I'm good in practical ways like having skills to create or repair things and have good common sense which enables me to use them to the best advantage.

I am not overly intelligent (no education, not that education relates directly to intelligence of course), but have a good general knowledge, along with common sense, which provides the coping mechanisms I need to get through life without too many hiccups. Ah, you can’t beat the The School of Life .....

Common sense and intelligence can be a bit of a bastard, people with very little of both seem to live happier simpler lives (sometimes).

I think that's where the expression 'Ignorance is bliss' comes from. Whereas, the more you know, the more you realise what you don't know.
