The story that never fails to make me chuckle is the one my mum told me about my auntie. When she was 50 yrs old and thought she was menopausal and fat and windy, instead she was 9 months pregnant!
(oooh that boy was such a surprise when she sneezed!!!)
She already had 5 kids, you'd think she'd know?!
(and no, not thick, she's got a PhD is summat intellectual). Laughing

Sometimes I think with broken bones, unless you can actually see a piece of bone shard sticking out your skin, or a limb is at an impossible angle, and you are sweating ice and fainting....sometimes we are geared in life to just dust ourselves off and grab the paracetamol.

Don't worry about me darling! My nails are strong and polished now - with a rather fetching glittery salmon edging Wink

Well hello there and welcome. Smile

I've not broken any bones, as far as I'm aware, but I have a snapped tendon in my forearm and it's been like that for over a year. Funny, though as it still grips better than the other arm.
I once nearly broke my leg. I've torn a rhomboid (a muscle in your back) and once landed on my right shoulder, causing some severe pain and was unable to move my arm for a couple of minutes.

Hi Han

oooh thats a bit odd saying that

i very much knew when i broke myself last year - snapped leg and ankle, dislocation of the break, knackered nerves, tendons, muscles, ligaments and soft tissue ....

my dad however fell off a massive load of hay a few years back and broke both his arms - one was very minor and the other arm he broke the wrist and he managed to finish unloading the hay and drive the 40 mins home on the tractor ... i wonder if that was shock though ...

i know its a bugger when you get an itch but try not to stick anything down it to itch if you lose something in your cast it can aggrevate the skin and if you scratch with something and break the skin because it gets quite sweaty and stinky in a cast the area may get infected ... i had 5 casts over 5 months, 2 thigh lengths and 3 normals so i know what a bugger it can be

Han x

I'll have you know that she was a very loving person. She just didn't happen to care who she shared the love with. Smile

To stay on topic I have also broken my nose twice, 2 fingers and a thumb.

Hello Han,

I cracked the bone in my left wrist and had to wear a cast from a couple of weeks.

I slipped on wet decking and just missed falling into a pond. Being soaked would have been preferable to the wrist as I spent ages in casualty waiting to be told it wasn't actually broken.

Although the guy that put the cast one wasn't too bad Twisted Evil
