I ran out of bread today.

What made my day worse was that in Tesco's they have a whole aisle JUST for bread, what's that all about?

Blue & White stripey loaf costs 27p, but Hovis Brown bread was £1.27

What's the difference between the two then?
And why dos the Hovis loaf cost over 3 times more?

Shopping is so complex, better off left to women to master.....

(They have the time)

Before anyone says that was a sexist comment, please be reminded that they DO sell shoes there too......

I do believe that Sweet Bread will be coming down in price rather drastically if Choochi has her way with Mega

I've worked it out the hovis has petrol in it to make it darker and hence it's very expensive right now. Smile

Macky, I have a very real phobia about shopping, for this very reason. I want to buy bread. I dont want to spend half an hour walking up and down an aisle full of white, brown, thin, fat, sunflower, GM Free, gluten-free, wholemeal, stonemeal, wheatgerm blahblah. I just want a loaf of ruddy bread! Walk in the shop, grab a loaf off the shelf, pay and walk out. Done. Simple.
Every time I have to go to sainsbury with a trolley and a list of provisions needed I have palpitations and a panic bubbling in my guts and get home two hours later with a severe headache and in need of some valium.
I hate shopping, I dont have the time or inclination for dithering which ruddy type/brand of bread to buy. Or washing powder, or whatever.
So quit the sexist remarks ok?????!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

(third world countries have it better, they just buy whatever they can afford that they are lucky enough to have on the shelf that day. So much easier when you have no choice.)

Hovis tastes like shit...so does the cheap tesco stuff. You may aswell buy the cheap one out of the two

Better still Warbartons or Bakers Oven. Bakers Oven's bread is hte best! But then Im a little biased!

That, pretty much is what I am getting at, so many different types of bread, it had me confused from the word go.

When I want to buy soup, it is easy (Heinz), when I buy shower gel, easy, (Lynx), but when I buy bread I can't even try a different one each time, cos I'll forget after a while which ones I have tried.....

I just bought the dearest one I could see at the time before my head started spinning.....

My dad swears by his, I keep meaning to get one.
If an 80 yrs old man can use one and get an 86 yrs old lady who's baked her own bread all her life to say "mmmmmm wonderful" I gotta have a fair chance of making a half-way decent loaf!

Buy a bread making machine, stick all the ingredients in the night before and in the morning you have lovely fresh bread!
