Seems to me that binge drinking and mob culture has taken off in towns across the country. Many times ive been out drinking in Leicester and ended up in fights initiated by teenagers who cant handle their shandy. For this reason ive stopped drinking in town now during the night and choose to go to friendly areas in the country. It’s just not worth it, …the arrival of the police just seems to add fuel to the fire and it’s just not worth it anymore. I still drink in Nottingham as it doesn’t seem too bad there although I avoid the clubs, …that’s not too bad anyway as my clubbing days are over lol

What’s it like in your town?

Crap,

My town is ruined because of arseholes. It's pathetic but these people were delighted a few years back when the town was rated as more dangerous than cork city. a town of 13,000 people, being more rough than a city.... fecks sake.

Sad wannabee hardman wankers beating up on people who can't fight back. People stopped going out at weekends because of this nonsense. I don't know what the town is like anymore these days because i haven't drank there in years, and i never intend to.

To be honest I have never witnessed any trouble on a night out in Birmingham..there is quite a heavy police presence on a weekend, and also security inside clubs and bars is very strict..knowing this makes it an even better night out.. 2 man down

There are an awful lot of fights after clubs here.... usually young lads who disagree on something stupid.

I remember one time we were leaving the club and one of the girls went to walk across the road...there were two guys fighting and she got shoved to the ground.. another one of the girls went over and said, "here, you're after knocking my friend to the ground, cop on!" One of the guys punched her!
My mate then went over and said, "that's my sister you just punched." He punched her too!
At this stage I was left standing on my own... all three of my friends had been punched or shoved by this wankbag....so I said to myself, "right" and went over and punched him! lol. A massive row ensued....and all because these drunken yobs couldn't just go out and have a good time.
The next week I was full sure we were all barred from the club, and when the head bouncer, Moose, called me over I just thought, oh here we go... All he said to me was, "seen a good few right hooks off you last week!" lol....apparently those two guys had been fighting with everyone, including the bouncers. Usually I just ignore the fights, but when one of my friends gets hit for nothing..... then I'll wade in and rescue them lol

Try living in Blackpool, not only do you have the local arses, but you get all the others in the form of holidaymakers.

It is true that it depends where you go but at kicking out time there tends to be a free for all on the streets in certain areas.

The only time we have had a high police presence was the first week-end of the smoking ban Ive never seen so many in my life. So that goes to show you what they regard as important Mad

It isn't that bad here.

I hardly ever go to Blackwood drinking. Purely because I find it boring. The most antisocial behaviour we have around here are the boy racers. They drive me nuts!

I tend to go to Swansea.

I'm off to Bristol on 11th August with loads of people for someone's birthday whom I don't even know! I'm kind of nervous as I've never been there before! Surprised

I've got the choice of Brighton or London for a night out from where I am (Tunbridge Wells is not a nightspot)

London is obviously brilliant, but tiring and the whole last train thing can be a bit fraught (sleeping on the platform isn't pleasant)

Brighton (where I still have my own accommodation) used to be (IMO) the best place in the country for a good night out, but has turned into a seething mass of stag and hen parties and puking teenagers. Still not as many fights as other towns I've been in tho as long as you stay out of West Street.

To be honest it works out ok. If you want to fight and puke, head straight to West Street, otherwise there's lots of other parts of town that are more fun.

that's fkin disgracefull! so tempting to go out with a telescopic trunchon for slime like that!

Bath! I loved it there! Never any problems, even the kids were polite! I was probably the only trouble maker - too many vodka red bulls and I'd turn the dance floor into a mosh pit! Razz

indeed getting people together to go out on the piss is easy these days, but getting people together to support a political cause seems to be an alien concept these days Confused

Yeah, gathering together for a political cause is so effective in modern politics, that really changed strategy on Iraq...... Rolling Eyes

I'm much happier expressing a vague dissatisfaction with other people's solutions than trying to solve an insoluble problem myself. In modern politics, if you want to change policy, you'd better be rich.

Now, if you're gathering for a drink.... Razz

LMAO I live in Liverpool. One good thing about Scouse teenagers though if you knock them out they dont go running off to the Police like some. Let me ask you this though what is there for teenagers to do look around your community and you will see sweet FA . Its either the Cinema or Bowling both cost a fortune more than beer or alcohol. Im not defending their behavoir but ask yourself what did you do at age 14 to 17 not much. And if you visit the city centres of England you will find mainly bar and clubs and nothing else. If you visit central Europe you will find a much different story families going out together and enjoying themselves teenagers included. Apparently after a recent European survey teenagers from other countries like spending time with thier parents and are not just told to get out of the house at night. Sorry but I blame the parents, if I had kids I would want to spend as much time with them as possible before they grew up and I would take resposiblity for their behavoir. If they wanted to go out drinking all night then they would have to get a job find their own place and leave home like I had to.

The British culture as a whole drinks alot in general and i am not saying that this is in any way the reason for all the violence. But when you have alot of intoxicated people in one place some of them don't handle their drink too well and get aggressive. I am lucky and have lived with and in other cultures and have seen the difference between England on the weekend and just about any state in the USA or Germany. Neither or those places have to man extra officers just to deal with getting through a routine weekend in town. Alcohol in the USA is sold at the age of 21 for good reason and i know that even there people can get their hands on it. But at least they do not have 16-18 year old children walking into pubs and getting served unlike here. Maybe it is time to review this law here.
