Home >> Anything else >> Being gay - biological or choice?
09.02.2007, 19:43 quote
Whilst I agree in parts, it is a massive and largely incorrect generalisation to think gays have a slight lisp and higher voices, many of them dont, at all. Some of my gay friends and massive girlies whilst many of them are very manly and dont outwardly appear gay.

| im my opinion its nature.
I remember discussing this in political and religious forums before, and when i posted this statement no one gave me an answer. Basically there was some bible bashers claiming the usual nonsense that it was unnattural and that a penis was solely made for the vagina and it was a perversion of the natural order etc. etc. etc. A man's G'spot is up his arse, god alone knows why its there, but there is only one way to reach it. So in my opinion people are born with it. |
I found it in the bath when i was about 21, I was disturbed for a good few years, but now I dont mind a pit of penetration during HETEROSEXUAL love, I dont like the thought of a big, hairy trucker driver grunting behind me.
Maybe i'm just weird

Yes many gay do act in a more feminine way, but also a shed load do not.
And I suppose all black men are criminals? And all Pakistanis own corner shops? Apart from the accountants and doctors of course.

| But the vast majority do though. For example many years ago I could tell that one of the men who worked in the jobcentre I signed on at was gay because he had a very slight effeminite voice. It was not pronounced but just detectable, that and other slight manerisms. He was not the classic gay stereotype but you could tell from his very subtle traits. |
Sorry but I just want to add my 2 cents to this!
WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOX!
That's all ..... as you were!

The mannerisms can depend on the person. Popular gay culture has created in some cases a Frankenstein of a will and Grace characteur for people who have recently come out of the closet. I have seen perfectly normal acting guys who as soon as they have come out of the closet, undergo an complete personality change and turn from a sound guy into a complete arsehole because they believe that the qualities of arrogance, smarmyness, put downs, and the insinuation that everyone who is not gay is either inferior, homophobic, tasteless, or simply boring without the presence of a homosexual. are essential ingredients to being gay.
I realise this is comming across as a one sided rant, but what i am attacking here is Queen culture as opposed to homosexuality. When i was with the Defence forces, there were two soldiers in my company who were homosexuals. No one gave a damn. Regardless of the supposed strerotyping of their orientation these particular soldiers felt no need to compromise their masculinity in any way. They were just as rugged, psychotic and as tough as the rest of them.
My problem with these supposed homosexual Queen traits is that they are artificial as opposed to natural behaviour. Leaving aside the few hetrosexual and homosexual people who just seem to be natually camp the majority of people who indulge in this behaviour are putting it on.
I have lost count of the ammount of recently ousted from the closet gays that have taking up acting and drama because its a 'supposedly' approved trait for a gay man to indulge in. The sheer shallowness and insecurity of these people when you are trying to deal with them in a professional capacity is infuriating ( i realise that considering the major life change they have just made insecurity is part and parcel of it till they learn to be comfortable and live with it ) but it just pisses me off when i see someone trying to be graham norton for no other reason than that they are gay and its what 'gay' people are supposed to act like, when in reality and in personality they are nothing like him.

| Stole this from another site. What do you think? I think its 100% biological i.e. you are gay from the day you are born. I dont think anyone would choose to be gay? Discuss |
Your personality is formed during the first seven years of your life and what you become in those years you are largely stuck with, thats not to say its not genetic but just wanted to point that out because I feel it makes a lot of peoples arguments pretty worthless.
