People think I look hard, if I go to a night club people think I'm a bouncer. I've had this problem since I was a teenager.

I went on holiday with a load of mates, and one of them said to me jokingly, you're only coming with us because nobody will start any trouble while you are there, which seem to be true People think I've just come out of prison.

Me and a mate went to a night club in St Albans, we got there early and there weren't many people there. We were standing near the bar and I could see two bouncers looking at us...a couple came over and said to me. "I hope you aren't going to cause any trouble in here tonight"....I don't cause trouble. Question

Me and a load of mates got invited back to a party by someone, there were about 8 of us, some of them are body builders. The person who's party it was didn't like us being there, but one of our lot sweet talked him. He said okay you can stay, then pointed at me and said "make sure he doesn't cause any trouble" Question ..don't know why, I've never seen him before.

At the Uni I go to, all the young blokes think I'm a hard nut and most of the lecturers seem intimidated by me.

It goes on and on..very puzzling and sometimes quite hurtful..although I've never really spoken about it before. I just wanted to get it off my chest Surprised

Donts uppose anyone else has this problem ?? Surprised

erm actually..... no one in my town will look crooked at me.... in my case it is warranted. i was quite the hellion when i was younger and was never in a fight that i didn't win.... and i don't do girly pulling hair and scratching. my speciality is my right hook.....which a bouncer complemented me on a couple months ago when a couple guys who were having a row outside the nightclub saw fit to hit both my mates....... so i saw fit to sort them out.

although in saying that .... i have never started a fight. my mother says... you don't start rows, you finish them. lol.

sounds to me that their is lots of stereotyping going on by these people...i did get asked if i was a bouncer once, but god knows why..i may be tall, but look skinny in my eyes..think it was the white shirt, black trousers that done it really..lol

Generally nobody starts on me, so I don't have many fights..although I can handle myself. I'd rather shake hands then fight.

Your mates were women ??

Just first impressions I suppose....maybe my attitude doesn't help because I'm not much of a smiler, and maybe I am sometimes to the point.
People are sometimes intimidated when they first meet me, then realise I am the nicest bloke in the world when they get to know me Laughing

I come from Dagenham, and I have got an East London accent, maybe I do come over a bit aggressive. Which I try my best not too.

my look generally carries the information....."if you're gonna bring it, bring it...book your ambulance"

but i'm a nice person really. it's just that i don't fly with bullshit. and if someone wants to end the night starting a fight with me or my friends i will make them regret it.

I second this.

I never get any crap off anybody...I look fierce apparently. Especially when i'm annoyed......which is 90% of the time.

the one and only time i hit someone first was when a guy came up to me in a nightclub and said, without warning, i didn't even know him............"hiya whore"

i broke his nose, the bouncers rang him an ambulance. and i got a free drink hehe.
